Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Perhaps being able to open the box should form part of the checks required before owning a shotgun?

It just shows how ingrained gun ownership is in the US. :(

Do people remember a few years ago when the 9 year old killed her instructor because the uzi she was using kicked back? I was working in a B&B at the time and two American couples were discussing it over breakfast. One couple were saying it was shocking and she shouldn't be near a gun. The other couple were saying that she shouldn't have been using an uzi but a hand gun would've been fine and more practical. That really is their mentality. Can't buy a beer until you're 21 but sure give the 9 year old a gun

    Not necessarily fcukwit parents.

Once kids are supervised and understand the rules, I see no problem. I would have used my Dad's gun here in Ireland (highly supervised) when I was her age.

Even with our strict rules here in Ireland, you can get a training licence at 14.

What would you need a shotgun for at her or indeed any age in Ireland?
    Militia uprising?

Clay pigeon shooting maybe. Vermin control maybe. Hunting maybe. All valid reasons for having a gun according to An Garda Siochana.

Yeah! and now, children are now being used to champion action against "climate change" to divert attention away from the excessive consumerism that is a prime driver of the real mess we're sleepwalking into.

Genetic sexual attraction is a thing. Siblings raised together have a natural sexual repulsion to each other and their parents. If they meet their siblings and/or parents as adults, it's not uncommon for them to have an overwhelming sexual attraction. I find sibling relationships bad enough but parent/child is just repulsive. Yuk. Some of them even go on to have children. Imagine explaining to your child that your Dad is also your Grandad?

Hell, nowadays your dad could be your grandad and also your mom.

Just imagine how bad it is for children separated at birth or shortly afterwards, meeting up as adults, falling in love etc.

Only to find out they're brother and sister!

It probably happens more than we think and maybe they never find out. Think of all the kids of affairs who never know their father or maybe a parent abandons one family and starts a new one and the half siblings meet up later. Or kids put up for adoption etc.

    ^^^^

When Elvis Presley died in 1977, it's estimated there were about 170 people impersonating him.

This number grew and grew and in the year 2,000 it was estimated there were about 85,000 Elvis impersonators.

The number of Elvis impersonators in 2043 will be 9,447,645,907. The population of the Earth in 2043 is expected to be slightly less than this number. So that means EVERYBODY on earth including people in the ghetto will be a guitar man just like Elvis...
