We're fast approaching what I'd call normal Galway weather as rain was making it's presence felt at the weekend.

Mornings the last few days have been very chilly, but the days have warmed up as the sun's come out. Early evenings (i.e. when you're finished work) are alright and the rain seems to have been staying away.

Yesterday: cold here in Mayo. Freezing at bus stop in Claremorris. Bright, sunny and warm in Galway.

Today on the Mayo coast: Dark, cold, blustery and rainy. Wonder if wind had anything to do with our power going for two hours tonight. Blown down lines cause 4-6 powercuts per winter here.

Dark, very wet, miserable, depressing, chilly!. Can it get any worse, of course it can. Must look on the bright side, " Every dark cloud has a silver lining " I think thats correct.

We're having a Bright spell here in Wicklow today, suns came out.
