The plan with this thread is to unofficially survey the weather wherever people read Boardsie from September 1st.

There will be regular correspondents from each of the four provinces informing you of what kind of weather is happening wherever they are located.
Where possible this will be on a daily basis and should be usefull for anyone travelling in their general direction.

Posts from everyone passing through the forum regarding conditions local to them are welcome, and the more the better.
Posts while on holiday are also welcome.

Your post can be as short as "sunny and Warm" plus location.
Or it can be a short rant about the weather on the day of your post, plus the location as long as the rant is entertaining/not too mad.
Pictures/images ( conforming to the decency codes and rules of Boards.ie ) are also welcome, but remember to keep image sizes friendly to 56k modem users or otherwise just paste a link to them.

We hope to collate the results for each area on a regular basis and compile a top ten of places in order of coldness/rainyness/sunshine etc.
*caveat* subject to the information provided here, with no guarantee of it's accuracy:D but hopefully this will actually turn out to be a resource for boardsie users :)

I'll start the Ball rolling even though it's still august:
Dull but dry and 16 degree's here in Co wicklow.

OK, here is the Galway report.

It's been a good summer here in Galway - normally it rains a lot more. Today is no different, dry and overcast (it's been this way for a few days now), but the sun might pop out. Not sure the exact temp - I'd say at the moment it's 8 - 10 Celcius.

Clear Blue sunny sky this morning in wicklow-but cool.
P.s you can post the temperature if you want, but it doesn't matter if you don't , a comment like Cold or warm will do :)

And here are the results from the Cork Jury.

A bit cloudy but the sun is making a half hearted attempt to break through. Quite mild.

    A little bit of everything.

Cloudy but there are a few patches of blue. Mild enough, but there was a small bit of drizzle a couple of minutes ago.

Woke up to wet weather, the clouds only lifted slowly. Little or no
    sun. Mild and humid

It's been raining during the night, but it isn't now. The sun is appearing from behind the clouds and it looks like it could be another good day.

    Drizzling all day in Cork.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

It's been somewhat mixed this weekend.

Friday, rain developed, but I don't know how it all panned out as I was in Dublin until Saturday late afternoon. At that stage there were wee showers something akin to spring time. The sun came out in between and stayed out for the most part. Saturday was like this when I got back as was Sunday (more rain in the early part of Sunday).

This morning is good - noticably cooler now that we're in September, but it's all good. This cold, dry morning business is the best kind of morning if you ask me. I hope the day stays this way.

Clear blue skies this morning in Cork. Bit breezy but all in all a lovely day so far.

    Cool and dry here.
The sky overhead and to the south and Southeast is dull and cloudy.
But that cloud edge is a sharp line, like the edge of a front.
At the other side of that line, just a couple of miles from here I can see a Sharp Blue Sky.
That cloud has been pulling back to the south East all morning but is taking ages.

Another dry day in the north east after very heavy showers over the weekend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,092 ✭✭✭ShaneOC

Dry and bright here in Cork too. A few very high clouds but the sun is shining. It has definately become cooler in the last day or two though.

Suns poking through with some blue sky in wicklow, but a lot of cloud though.
    Hill tops shrouded in cloud/fog.
Deffo cooler, this past few days.

Possible warm up, near the w/end tho...
Allthough it is the fall so no need for the shorts!
