    Big mickey,

Do you take old mattress away with delivery?

Yes, we take them to a local recycling center that disposes of them correctly and issue paperwork to us to that effect.

    Thanks

    Hi big Mickey
Our toddler will be moving from her cot bed into a big girl bed (single) soon. We got a flexa bed so we don't want a mattress which is too deep. What would you recommend from your stock??
    Thanks

thanks for getting back to me big mickey. what kind of mattress would you recommend for a toddler?? i had a memory foam one before and didn't like it so not that anyway! as long as its not too deep but still is good quality for her. would the air spring bed be the best as its for a smallie who will probably be jumping on the bed half the time?! the next dearest ones look great but are too deep i think for her bed. if you have any other suggestions then please fire away!

    Hi Big Mickey,
Just wanted to say I dropped down to you last Saturday week and it was a pleasure to do business. Genuine bargains with good honest information without the hard sell pressure.
I got a superking mattress, a triple bunk bed with a double and a single mattress along with a hall sideboard.

Everthing delivered following Wednesday and took away the old superking mattress.
    Thanks for everything.

    Hi bungaro79

We have complete single sets from €149 inc base + mattress. It is all down to your budget. If you want to prevent the child from bouncing on the mattress then perhaps a 6 inch foam mattress (firm). There won't be much bounce as there is no spring. These are also turnable and will last but as I said it's all down to budget.

    Hi bigmickey,

I remembered seeing you did Sealy's mattresses before. But I couldn't see them on your website. Have you stopped selling their mattresses? I am looking for Sealy nostromo 1400 king. Have you got anything similar to that?

    Regards

Thanks. Do you stock different firmness for the two mentioned above? I would be looking for a medium to firm one. I know I should try them before ordering. But I am living in Limerick . It can be difficult for me to get there. Do you know if there are any similar mattresses stocked in EZ-living or Harvey Normal so I could try them out first? ;)

    Hi s982102

If you pm me your details, then the next time we are going near you we can put one of each on and give you a look at them. No obligation to buy. There are some 5000 pocket and 6000 pocket mattresses in the consignments that we got. The 5000 pocket seems a bit firmer than the 6000 pocket. I am unsure what the other shops have but as far as I know they don't have anything from the Harrison brand. As I said send your details and we can discuss other options also.

The link for Benson's isn't working, the john lewis one looks good though! I am looking for super king mattress and simple bed frame. Are you doing these in those sizes?

    Hi loopymum

We have plenty of Superking mattresses in stock. We have over 200 units currently. There will be a mixed bag of Sealy. The John Lewis ones are in Single- 4ft - Double and Kingsize but No Superking in those yet. Then, we have our regular stock. We have about 15 different high quality models on our shop floor and also some cheap ones too.

I have a hard copy of the Bensons Sealy bed. I will post it when I get a chance.

    Thanks

Hi there, looking for a bit of advice before I shell out....

I have a superking bed frame with slatted base, and a pocket sprung mattress, both bought new about 10 years ago - one or the other or both have my back broken

Was told along the way that pocket sprung mattress was not suitable for a slatted base - do you agree with this? I got sheets of board to put under the mattress, and that has improved matters a bit, but still far from perfect.

The mattress was an expensive Halcyon one bought new, so I'm surprised if it's the problem - but if it is, I have no problem replacing it. Or replacing the bed for a divan if that would fix things. But I don't want to shell out hundreds and still have the same problem after!

If I could try a mattress on the bed frame and return if not suitable it'd be great - but understandably that's not an option!

Do you have any advice for me???

How big is the gap in the slats in your current bed and are they sprung or ridgid slats ? If the gap is too big the pocket springs can eventually sag between the slats causing a problem but this would be quite rare. Did you buy the bed and mattress at the same time ? How long are you experiencing this problem ?

The slats are approx 9cm wide, with about a 3cm gap between them. They're wood, not sprung.

I bought the bed (Foko) and mattress (Halcyon) new at the same time - the mattress was the one being sold by the shop with the bed but I got it from the company direct. They both seem to have gone out of business since then, so I can't query it with them.

It's never been really comfortable, but in recent years (say three or four) it's got so that I have to move to another (cheap n cheerful) divan for a few nights every couple of weeks to give my back a break! I'm desperate at this stage!!

ETA, I've regularly turned and rotated the mattress, so don't think it should have deformed around the slats.

    Hi again

The distance between the slats is fine. That is not the problem. I will pm you and see if we can assist further.

    Thanks

    Hi bigmickey,
just to let you and everyone else know that I could not be more impressed with the mattress you suggested after email contact 2 weeks ago.
I told you what I wanted and you delivered within 2 days, no messing no hard sell.
You were recommended to me from someone on here and I have no hesitation recommending you to others who have yet to do business with you.
    Kind regards,

I was going to buy a more expensive brand and you guided me towards a 19cm Signature Sleep King Harmony, a great mattress.
    Thank you.

Great. They are coming to an end and we have nothing similar to replace them. We got around 1000 of them some months ago and not even a single complaint about one of them. €249 for a double or king pocket sprung mattress is not a bed deal these days.

    Thanks again.

    Hi supersparkz

When you say queen size, what width do you need ? Is it 5ft or 6ft ? If shopping around you are better using these sizes as names can differ depending on country of manufacture.

    Thanks

    Hi Amy

I take it you mean an Ottoman bed. We have from all prices. How is your room size. A divan ottoman will only take up the same size as the mattress while most frame ottoman's will take up much more space. Delivery is free and quick. We are loaded for Dublin for tomorrow but I believe we have loads again on Friday and on Saturday of this week. What type would suit you best ?

    Hi Bigmickey,

Would you take away old mattress if required?

    Thanks

    Hi insullation

Yes we take them away and dispose of them properly to a licensed waste disposal company that issue the correct paperwork for every transaction and none of them end up in places like here :

    http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/uk-news/warning-issued-cheap-mattress-scam-6733750

This is getting quite worrying as more and more of these types are popping up every week with rogue traders. I heard there were people complaining to Joe Duffy this week about dodgy mattresses and I will bet it was guys like this. They are recovering the old ones and poor unfortunate customers are buying a load of crap while think they are getting a bargain.

    Thanks

    Hi Mickey,
Daytob here purchased a fair bit of your stuff years ago, still solid after even having a toddler, I too have seen those pages on facebook and the likes and still wouldnt touch them.
I often feel bad because I bought most of my house from you and its still in great condition, and while I do tell others about you, some wont. Will you be doing anything in and around dublin, for those who are afraid of travelling out to the schticks ;) I mean apart from the ideal homes exhibition?

    Hi Daytob

Good to hear from you again and that your money was well spent with us all those years ago . Yes, many of these rogue traders are on Facebook while others are just going around taking a chance knocking on doors. Some of the Facebook traders change their pages every few weeks to avoid detection.

We always do great deals for all you guys on boards. We deliver to Dublin nearly every day. About 70% of our sales are to Dublin. For those customers that can't or won't travel to Longford and are from Dublin, we have our sister company in Dublin, www.dublinbeds.ie This is a first of it's kind. It's a mobile display bed and mattress shop. It's totally online and it suits many customers that work very long hours or that don't drive so instead of them going to the shop, the shop comes to them. They will be doing some very special deals on beds and mattresses at the Ideal Homes Exhibition in October. I will post a free admission tickets link in a few mins for anyone interested.

    Thanks for your comments.

Thinking about it maybe a divan would be better (is that with drawers underneath)?

Room is about 15/16sqm. What would you recommend?
    What’s the Hilton like?

    Thanks

    Hi Amy

You can have a divan with drawers, usually 2 or 4 but we get custom made so everything is possible. The cheapest way out will be a standard set with or without drawers. That Hilton has come to an end. The Raz or the Ruby would be more superior and still around the same price.

If you can't come to the shop and you are living fairly central then we can show you them before you part with your money to see if you like any of them. Best is to call me on 086 8356888 or 043 3345488 to discuss or pm your number and we can call you.

    Thanks

    Hello Big Mickey,

I am looking for king size bed of pocket sprung and medium firmness may be orthopedic one. Since I have back problem so looking for suitable mattress. I am based in Dublin but can manage to visit once to Langford. Could you please suggest me some mattress as per my requirement?

    Thanks

    Hi din03

We always have hundreds of mattresses in stock. We prefer for customers that have particular needs to come and try them out for themselves. Quite often when customers do this they buy a different mattress than they intended. We have 30 quality mattresses on our shop floor. If you can call to us at all then this would be better. We have three customers that are Chiropractor's. One bought the Platinum 2000 Memory, other guy bought a Jade 1500 latex and the third guy bought a 2 in 1 non pocket mattress. With the 2 in 1 there are no springs but one side is rock hard while the other side is a bit softer.

    Thanks

    Mick
