Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jenny in the US is "escalating" with the UK store for me. Allegedly.

I was put through to a UK agent yesterday and was told it was scheduled for delivery today. Still not received and the status still shows as delayed.

I wonder did we all order around the same time and there was a glitch. I never received a confirmation email, I can only view my order when I log into the store

Your delivery was delayed. We're working to get it to you soon and will email you when it's on its way.

That's annoying. I ordered 29th, delivered yesterday morning.

My account is showing the exact same messages since late Friday evening. In ordered lunch time on Friday. It originally showed Monday for delivery

A UK agent wasn't available for me apparently. I did get a confirmation email and a further email to say it had been shipped. Which it clearly hasn't. Looks like they were overwhelmed by demand. But they really are sh1t at dealing with anything going wrong.

I'm on day 3 of dealing with their chat reps. Great craic.....not.
I think I've gotten a bit further today though with the rep. He appeared to be an actual UK rep and was escalating it to the shipping team. Admitted on the chat that there is an issue on their side.

I've got Patrick...no word back from him unsurprisingly. Over a week since order now and no update.

Anybody using it with the Nest Hello?

Is the video appearing on the Hub in good time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,096 ✭✭✭Peig Sayers

Just checked the delivery status of my newest order and it says delivery 28-30 October  Considering it only took two days for my last order, I'm not going to wait that long for the next one. I've cancelled and will think of another birthday present for my friend!

Any more of this from Google Support and I'll have to delve into my Filofax to get Joe Duffy's number

It's nearly instant, less than 1 second.

They must have taken lots of orders, the delays are crazy. I ordered ours midday last Thursday and it arrived on Friday afternoon.

There just seems to be a batch of orders that got lost in limbo, I ordered on Friday lunchtime and still haven't received mine, yet people who ordered on Saturday and Sunday received them Monday and Tuesday

I have to laugh at their inability to solve the most basic issues. We've all heard the stories of the off the wall questions asked at interviews to work in Google. Thinking outside the box my hole. They can't even transfer you from US chat to UK chat.

And 'escalate' means put your fingers in your ears and hope the customer loses the will to read your scripted answers.

I ordered on the night of the 26th......not dispatched yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,528 ✭✭✭copeyhagen

didnt need it, but wanted it, cheers OP.

    delivery expected 20th of October!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,806 ✭✭✭lertsnim

Setup mine and it's a fine purchase. I have it in the kitchen and it's handy for Spotify, radio, Netflix or YouTube when making dinner. Sure the sound isn't going to win awards but it's more than adequate and I have the Home Max anyway if I want great sound.

    WTF!

That doesn't bode well for those of us whose orders fell through the cracks.

This was my interaction with support. Rose? Rose?

Interesting that they have stock on the UK store (plus extra colours!), however the price is higher at £59 (around €67 + some parcel redirect fee). Irish Google store has gone to "join waiting list".

The Harvey Norman price is €89 (no bargain there, but there is stock).

Maybe those that fell through the cracks had some sort of extra manual credit/address spot check performed which delayed their order, and now it's out of stock.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭fman

DID have them listed for 69.99 for anyone interested. What has been weird about this is that since day 1 of this promo I've been seeing Google ads around for the Google store and a price of 69.99, now even 68.xx since the VAT cut. Looks like a big screw up somewhere so fair play to those who got em and hopefully at some point the technology giant will figure out a way to respond to the rest of us.

I know this is Hub, but would I be right in saying that this wouldn't have anything like Zigbee in it for automating stuff?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭fman

Similar to Gustavo, the money was showing as a pending transaction in my bank and now back in my account.

    Same as.
They're probably frought with guilt over the pain and suffering we've all endured with their support team, given us back the money and will send out the device anyway as a show of repentance.

    Oh look, a flying pig......

Interestingly I ordered the Nest Wi-Fi yesterday, at checkout delivery was estimated as being towards the end of the month. Now it looks like it'll be delivered tomorrow.

I use Teckin stuff I got off Amazon. It uses a Smart Life app which pairs up with Google Assistant fairly easily. Zigbee stuff probably has something similar.

I can use the Smart Life App on my phone or the Google Home app (and voice commands on all the Nest devices) to control my plugs / lights etc.

+1 for Teckin stuff. Great value and very reliable stuff

Yeah, I'm starting to doubt anything is going to appear. My pending debit has now disappeared too.

Google are all about user experience. Well this one is sh*t!

I also note instead of a "Buy now" button on the Nest Hub page, the button now says "Join waiting list".

It is interesting that with the UK Shop you can still buy it. Anyone hazard a guess as to what's changed? It all ships out of a centralised warehouse doesn't it? It's not as if they have stock in Ireland.

They must have had some stock in Ireland based on how quickly I got mine I would have though? Less that 24 hours after order.

I'm replying twice a day to the support ticket that they gave me looking for a status.
They're not even being nice to me now I'm bugging them so much.
Same spiel every time. "Sorry we have no update from Higher Support"

Cancel order maybe? Looks like it's not worth the grief to save €10 from the current DID price.

I went to DID this morning and picked one up. :P

This was for the missis who is working from home and Google have forsaken us.
Haven't cancelled yet, but the pending transaction is gone from my account so curious to see what happens.

I'm getting a daily mail from Jenny saying they are still waiting on higher tier support to investigate, kinda funny.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,056 ✭✭✭GustavoFring

Just got a revolut notification that they've taken the cost again, says delivery tomorrow or Wednesday.

Click on the order number in the confirmation email, you'll be taken directly to the order in your Google account. There is a big Cancel Shipment button on that page.

Select Cancel order. If you don't see "Cancel order," that means your order has been prepared for shipment and can't be canceled.

its been prepared for shipment over a week now

Your delivery was delayed. We're working to get it to you soon and will email you when it's on its way.

Would anyone recommend this for the bedroom? Would be mainly used as an alarm clock and radio.
