Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's a great example of a reg question I have...

So between 87 and 91 there was no requirement for the EU flag or the county name as Gaeilge above the region number, but was it allowed to not have the hyphens between the numbers and the county letter? I can't seem to find confirmation anywhere in the SIs or anything.

Gonna be getting some made up and would prefer without hyphens (if legal) for the grim authenticity of 1990.

    Also, acrylic or metal?

Yeah, those number plates are totally legal and I would guess they have been on the car since day one. I have the very same on my Alto. Acrylic would be period correct for a 90s car; I’m not aware of anywhere that can still make decent copies anymore, most either get the font or size wrong..

I would recommend getting in touch with Eireplates and seeing if they can make them up

I’ve seen that Lexus about - older lady behind the wheel surprisingly!

That perticular Lexus has been owned by the same lady for donkeys years. IIRC it lives off the Tonlegee road.

Boghall Road area mostly. I know the Fiat you mention - if it's the navy one that lives down by the Harbour - that gets driven fairly frequently

That's one of my favourite cars of all time, the 300zx twin turbo.
However that lexus above would vie very much for the "car for life" spot.

^Can't bate the oul Hiace engine!

89' Golf van basking in the sunshine in the car park of my local Tesco this morning. Not showing much in the way of battle scars for a 30 year old van. Can only assume it got a respray in the not too distant past.

Loving the W124 and W126 tc20. The W126 is very stately looking. Proper built to last Mercs from an era before they started turning out the cheaply made tat.

cheers - yep, the W126 still has the gravitas, and that C124 in particular looked stunning, classic lines. I've had a few old Mercs in the past, both of those particular models are certainly on my 'to-do' list ;)

Always found the W124 to be a lovely car to travel in anytime I sat into one.

Taxis usually back in the day.
