Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah thanks mrcheez since I'm new to the Switch I wanted to ask this also. So basically you need to set up separate accounts (with unique email addresses) for each region's eShop and then add them to the Switch? Y'know I don't want to sound like a big time charlie but I have a PS4 and couldn't be arsed with all the region stuff for that as well. I just stick to the Irish store. More expensive but life's simpler.

You can just change the country on your profile either

One account is fine, just change country in settings on a browser. You lose your gold coins and any credit on your account though.

Mother of God. And no risk of being banned?

Another use for my Revolut card I guess.

I have UK and US accounts on my PS4 but it is arguably 'harder' to get credit for that as you need to either get setup with Revolut or buy credit on Amazon.

Picked up a few games before the sale ends:

    Anodyne - €0.99
    Rogue Aces - €1.99
    Pang Adventures - €3.99

I'm hoping Pang plays similar to the version on the Amiga I last played, thought it was decent fun back then.

I loved super pang in my old chipper, but I've never got into it as much on mame or anything else again.

I bought Rogue Aces after you pointed it out. Second Warplane game I bought this week. It looks fun and I got a few more gold coins for buying it.

    Reminder: eshop sale over today.

Gonna get virtua racing 'cause it looks fantastic on switch 60fps. And is the best version available according to DF: https://youtu.be/uEbmTfSxt9Q

And it's less than a fiver!

Weirdly, changing the currency to Euro and keeping the region as UK has one of the jumpers already €10 off, which happens to be the one I want (https://www.iwantoneofthose.com/clothing/nintendo-super-mario-mario-ho-ho-ho-it-s-a-me-grey-christmas-sweatshirt/11556100.html)

Applying the code though doesn't net you a free t-shirt, but instead discounts €7.49, basically bringing the price of the jumper up.

I opted to just order the jumper alone in this case. Code still gets you the €1 shipping, so €19.99 for it 👍

That's weird. I tried it again with a random t-shirt and sweater an still works for me.

Sorry, perhaps I could've been clearer. It's only an issue with that one jumper with the existing €10 discount. Others totally discount a full t-shirt amount.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,861 ✭✭✭✭mrcheez

Payment got messed up on my order so the tshirt was charged, but not the sweatshirt which I'd have to pay for separately.

Actually worked out well since I was having second thoughts on the sweatshirt, but liked the tshirt, and it ended up being a tshirt for €10 delivered after I cancelled the sweatshirt part. Happy out.

The Witcher 3 for Switch on TheGameCollection eBay outlet, using 20% off code, for £37.48.

Code is: POPULAR20 and is valid until 17 October.

Picked it up myself at that price.

Tried to buy that, code won't work and they want £5.50 for delivery. I have a bunch to play anyway so I think I'll leave this a few weeks and see if it will come down closer to €40.

DeepDiscount (US online store) are having a sale at the minute. They accept Paypal etc.

    The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 - $8 (€7.25)
    Scribblenauts Showdown - $10 (€9.08)
    MXGP 3: The Official Motocross Videogame - $12 (€10.90)
    Voez - $15.44 (€14.02)

$7.98 (€7.25) for one game delivered
$9.97 (€9.07) for two games delivered

$5.98 (€5.43) for one game delivered to UK (PW/AP/PM/PC)
$7.97 (€7.24) for two games delivered to UK

Our VAT absolute limit is €26 in Ireland (as negligible amounts (below €6) aren't collected).
TRICKRTREAT15 code doesn't apply to Video Games.

The book of unwritten tales + Scribblenauts = €25.40 delivered
Everything else, would have to be ordered individually (I think) to ensure no vat collection at your door.
I didnt look too hard (just pricespy) but a quick price coparison here:
The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 - €30
    Scribblenauts Showdown - €25
MXGP 3: The Official Motocross Videogame - €22
    Voez (Japanese Import) - €46

Edited - When choosing shipping to UK, Tax is already added at checkout, so it may work out cheaper to buy 3 or 4 games and pay €3.95 for Parcel Wizard/Motel/Connect or Address Pal.

Anyone who got Overwatch from CDKeys, did you get the 3 months Nintendo Online? I only got one code, and it seems like the "physical" release comes with two codes, one for the game, and one for the online sub. I contacted CDKeys who advised that the 3 months was included in the code, and while I saw the picture of the Nintendo Online sub in the game icon when activating, I definitely didn't get the 3 months.

eShop cards are different from region to region. It may be that because we both use euro, that the Irish card will work in Holland, but it may be better to check what accounts your friend has.

Personally, I have an Irish (Debit Card), South African (Debit Card), Russian (Debit Card), US (buy eshop cards from the likes of pcgamesupply), Mexican (again, buying eshop cards), and Japan (using PayPal with my Irish debit card)

    He could have similar.

When you say you have an Irish / South African / Russian ... what do you mean? Accounts?

Is that a better approach than changing the region, and easy to setup?

Yes, multiple accounts with their own email address.

I find it easier than changing region, as I don’t lose balances. I play all games on my main Irish account and never had a issue.

They have a Dutch and Irish account, just dunno where to actually get either digitally. I only used to buy stuff for my Vita since I set it to US.

Didn't know you could change region without making new accounts for each one either :o

I used this for the address - https://www.fakeaddressgenerator.com/All_countries/address/country/Colombia
and a random number between 5-10 digits for the citizens number and got to the credt card payment. I guess Revolut or similar card would work? But I used fake info so I didn't try with any card, I may go back and try it another time.

It's not as bad as that - the peso seems to be like the lire or the Spanish peseta were before the Euro came in, ie routinely counted in thousands. So your base unit for comparison to €1 is $1000, not $1.

Doesn't help that they use the dollar sign for their currency, though...

This looks interesting, do you buy via a web browser and then put the code in your switch?

Or do you create another account same way as other regions ?

I think you have to buy in browser.

When I was reading through yesterday, I got the impression (I could be mistaken), that they don't sell prepaid nintendo cards in Colombia (and a few other South American Countries), and use a limited eshop to purchase the code. Then use the code in the console.

I thought they all or most come with a choice of languages.
