Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Toulouse are missing the top 2 inches. Surely a shot at goal would have been the right call there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,210 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

This is comfortably Leinster's best performance of the year. Still feel like an eleven point lead at half time isn't enough though. Need the first few scores in the second half.

Absolutely. For Leinster to go from a try disallowed to having 3 points clawed back would have been an ideal way for Toulouse to end the half.

It still feels like Toulouse haven't fired a shot yet. I know they were camped on our line, but that was from our own unenforced errors. We've not seen anything of their offloading game. Need to kill the game off before they click.

And from the replay that was a certain try if Faumuina caught it, no one was gonna stop him that close to the line. Could have been a penalty try if Barnes went to the TMO about it.

Nigel owens game one yesterday for a try saving high tackle. Should've been a penalty try there

This game is a long way from being over

    Johnny won’t like that

We could do with getting points on the board within the next ten minutes to just try hold it out until the bench is unloaded.

Absolute hospital pass from Kearney to Lowe. Lowe did excellent though.

Ahki is all kinds of average in the midfield.

There aren't many things bad about Sextons game, but cross field kicks certainly are.

Would like to see refs insist that once whistle blown, ball is placed on ground. Both sides playing silly buggers with the ball once the whistle goes

    Ruthless.

Best I've seen Leinster in a while, but jeez have Toulouse decided not to show up.
Bit of different team, but they did the same against Munster in the 2017 quarter final.

Clinical, Toulouse are struggling now, go through the phases, bring the wingers up and nudge it in behind should be the orders from here on. They should be on warning for infringements as well.

    Just caught completely sleeping there

What does the law say about simultaneous grounding?

Ringrose is very often that final tackler, immense workrate pays off again.

Thought Sexton should have git a yellow card for the high tackie, he never let go.

Hmmm. It doesn’t. Seems to fall under the doubt about grounding law.

    DOUBT ABOUT GROUNDING

If there is doubt about which team first grounded the ball in in-goal, play is restarts with a five-metre scrum, in line with the place where the ball was grounded. The attacking team throws in.

Definitely. And he was better for it.

Has the entire Toulouse team lost 30 IQ points since the quarter final?

    Class stuff from Larmour.

If he'd slipped that tackle there's no way he'd have been caught.

I’m starting to think he should get Irish 8 shirt. We see if joe agrees.

Agree. Stander or POM to fight it out for starting 6/bench spot.

You'd have to think he's very very close

His footwork is what sets him apart from Stander for me, don't get me wrong he's a great workhorse and will truck it up all day long, but Conan's offloading and footwork means he's getting a hell of a lot more metres per carry.

Toulouse are a dud. Tactically and mentally inept. Basically France in red.

    Couldn't have said it better.
Clinical performance from Leinster, controlled the game and looked like they could have stepped it up another notch if needed, tbh. Bench players were excellent.

They've played far better this season. What was frustrating was the amount of mistakes that were all fault of their own. Added that to Leinster controlling the ball and stout defence, it was a poor performance from them.

Going to be a cracking final, an in form Sexton up against Farrell again. Can't wait.

Conan is really playing himself into starting 8 for Ireland on this form. He was motm for me. I maybe haven't seen enough of him in the last few months for Leinster but I feel like he's gotten significantly better handling this season.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 8,140 ✭✭✭fitz

Seanie emotional after his last game at the Aviva in a Leinster shirt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,210 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

That was easily our best performance this season. After the Toulouse game in the RDS the Toulouse players said they were caught out cold by Leinster's suffocating defence. They were prepared for it this time and we still held them tryless. That was an incredible performance.

They lost their game even with their starting selection. Since when is a journeyman Kiwi centre your starting option for a match of this calibre? And Ramos is just a dial-an-error at 15 from what I've seen. They quite clearly have the talent to win Europe, but their tactics and level-headedness were all over the shop. Some down to Leinster pressure but not all.

Anyway, I await Buer to explain to us why Lowe shouldn't start the final :pac:
