I posted this many moons ago in this thread, but as there has been a lot of discussion on the different opinions on what constitutes "unusual", I think this is worth posting again, as I really do consider this to be the epitome of unusual.

Annette Crosbie (the elderly wife of Victor Meldrew). At the time One Foot in the Grave came out, she'd have been almost 60 and by no means conventionally glamorous. I'd have been in my mid-20s at the time too, so there would have been the age gap thing.

Looked her up on Google just there and she still looks attractive to me.

    That's UNUSUAL for ye.

That is unusual, R. And I can see why.

And just to clarify further...I don't mean that I find her attractive as she is today, but back in her 60s she had a certain something.

The heart wants what the heart wants :D

I'm not claiming she was a stunner or gorgeous or anything of the sort, just that I found her quite attractive at the time.

Says a lot about After Hours in general that over 6000 posts in this thread is still just a cycle of some cretin going: "Rachel Riley*. She's unusual cos she does maths and stuff." followed by 4 posts saying "she's basically a model, what's unusual about that, you tulip!"

*Insert any well known good looking person off tv here.

    Mac de Marco?

I know I'm not the only one but I think it might be unusual what with, well, his appearance. Seems like one of those ones that would make no sense from the outside but I can't take my eyes off the funny-looking little ridebag.

A fine looking woman indeed. I wouldn't say she is unusual but Alan Partridge probably would.

    Do you really think so?

Sounds like something from Estuary or. Manchunian English, such as you might hear bellowed across 't cobbles.

"Vera luv, d'ye fancy fish for yer Tea?"
"ah say Vera luv, ah fancy a Bitter, shall we tarry in 'et Rovers?"
"Ooh Vera luv, ah don't half fancy an hand shandy during 'et Brexit d'bate"

    And so on.

I had a whole reply written about Brexit, hand shandies and Nigel Farage. In the interests of everyone's sleep, I've just deleted it. Probably for the best.

    G'night all.
