Trivium's setlist for their Download Festival slot
Thats odd they were meant to be running through their first Download set I thought as part of their show there. Maybe his vocal issues eliminated that plan.

The plan was that they were due to headline the Red Bull stage (the one they were originally meant to play in 05) and were going to do the set. But the promoter bumped them up to the second stage so they had to make a longer set. Out of the 5 songs they were due to play, 3 of them are still in that new setlist: Flies, Gunshot and Pull Harder

Dublin band Psykosis announced as Trivium's support in the Academy gig. Fair ****s to them.

Not the biggest Trivium fan but I do like these songs

Also Travis is an unreal drummer.

Oh right I don't see why they couldn't do that anyway. Flies wasn't part of that set though it was rain, gunshot, the decieved, drowned and torn and Pull. Gunshot and Pull their 2 most played tracks live so no surprise to have them played. Id say the Download set will pretty much what we get at Dublin gig.

Matt Heafy's vocals are on the mend
The voice is doing great. I've been training with Ron Anderson daily since the docs gave me the green light. Festivals.. Look out! Love, MKH

They probably **** their pants. Which is a perfectly valid reaction when your band gets announced as Trivium's support. Very happy for them.

Trivium in the ambassador in 2006, with god forbid and mendeed. One of my fondest musical memories. A bit of a shame the way it turned out for them

Ya its a shame alright they appear to be more regarded in Europe tough but its not like an Arena tour beckons any time soon. Seeing them on Saturday though can't wait!!, hopefully I'll make the Dublin gig too!

Should be a cracker this time next week, any ideas what time Trivium will be on-stage?

  • Registered Users Posts: 113 ✭✭Whatsgonewrong

They were great when the toured here for the shogun tour with the haunted and Bruce Dickinsons son's band whatever they were called haha

Think I might give this one a miss though, really don't like anything off the latest two albums.

Gonna head to this myself on tuesday.

I don't personally think it turned out that bad for them, they've carved out a niche for themselves. Especially with shogun, they veered away from the "lighter" stuff they did on the Crusade.

Shogun probably being my favourite metal album of the last ten years. Not a duffer on there (except maybe the calamity).

    TRIVIUM don't mess around
Trivium are busier than ever. They released their sixth album, Vengeance Falls, in 2013 and have already written skeletons for another 15 new songs, which they plan to start recording in the first quarter of 2015.

That was a solid show take their advice whoever went and tell yer friends! And maybe we wont have to wait another 6 years.

Crowd was great their sound guy was very unprofessional though gettin a fan to buy him drinks and knockin them back during the show failed to up Matts vocals when walkin to other mics particularly on righthand side, overheard fan gettin rewarded to meet the band after for his troubles.

Yeah the sound guy had a ****in stinker last night; he didn't even turn on the mics until a bit into the first song, the levels when switching from rhythm to solo's were messed up also.

Though tbf the band were on top form, crowd were well up for it too so it looked like the band were having a great time. Also that new drummer is solid as foook, not a single beat missed.

Best I've seen them play tbh.

Psykosis & Trivium were ****in amazing, got to meet 3/4 of the band afterwards, would gladly do it all over again

It was also the first time I heard the phrase "Pow, right in the kisser" used at a gig.

    Oh you better believe it!

It was before the show, and Matt couldn't talk as he doesnt speak for 4 hours before a show. Kinda disappointed in that but more than made up for it talking to Paolo and Corey

I'm by no means a Trivium fan but they definitely did out on a great live performance.
But dear Jesus Psykosis were fantastic!! They're mates of mine and it was really great to see them playing that stage, now I'm playing with them down in limerick on Saturday :D

I can't say I'm surprised this wasn't used by the "contemporary band" it was ghostwritten for. Pretty colour-by-numbers stuff.

    Announced for B.O.A.

Surprised at the headliners.....well not really actually but the fact they have all of these all in the one year without having an extreme metal headliner in there is, but regardless there should be something on the bill for everyone even if the headliners are more mainstream they are certainly all drastically different in styles.

The announcement has been predictably met with naysayers some right laughable comments on the Facebook page, never got that you don't like a band at a festival there is other stages or bars to go to.

Considering going although with tickets now at £120 early bird and prob £140 (approx 155/177 euro) its hardly a niche festival now.

I don't like it. Musically it's alright I guess but not a fan of the vocals. It's neither a step back or a step forward for the band.

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,990 ✭✭✭✭Lithium93_

It has to my ears at least a Dio era Sabbath feel to the verse/chorus.
