I don't like it...

I do love the look of it though, looks a lot better than Lets Go which already looked good! Scope seems great, Pokemen from all the Gens present, some type of League/Colosseum type fixture, hopefully not like the Battle Towers of yore.

Not a fan of those starters tbh (and I'm not just comparing them with the early gens as I thought the Sun and Moon starters were great, Rowlet especially!) I know there are a limited number of animals in the world to base designs on, but still think there were already more than enough monkeys out there. Sobble probably my fave if I had to pick one.

Hopefully the evolved forms will be good, though I don't own a Switch myself (and don't have enough free time or disposable income to justify getting one) so might be a long time before I ever get to play this anyway.

Please have a difficulty setting! I don't want endless tutorials. Just give me my starter and let me catch Pokemon without constant interruptions!!

My favourite battle system was X and Y. I spent a lot of hours battling on that. I thought the Z-Move addition in Sun and Moon gen was overkill though. I really hope the battle system is not ruined by more bells and whistles. I'm excited to see what it will be like.

Looking forward to this one. Hopefully the Switch is able to handle battles better, the stuttering could get pretty woeful on the 3DS.

Pokemon is already one shotty enough. I never bothered really with the Z crystals/moves in Sun and Moon.

Hopefully a return to gym badges!!

Sun/Moon drove me nuts with the tutorials. Didn’t get very far before I lost all patience with it.

They said yesterday that only Pokemon in the Galar pokedex can be transferred to Sword and Shield, so going to be a limited pokdex

Also hearing no Mega Evolutions or Z-Moves?

I'm pleased the Z-Moves are gone as I never liked them but I'm disappointed if there's no Megas. Mega Medicham won me a lot of battles on Pokemon X.

There's a 20 or so minute video on youtube of gameplay and it's being talked over. Couldn't get through it. Painfully boring. They just stood in one area and battled a couple of wild pokemon and talked about how the rain affects the monsters you see.. (That feature has excited was many, many generations).

I guess it's not the kind of game that can have 'exciting' gameplay videos like Last of Us, Halo etc.. but disappointing none the less.

Don't have a Switch so I figured I'd wait until Black Friday to get one and then get this game. Might alternatively go for the Switch Lite as I'm more of a handheld gamer these days. Will have to think about it.

Interested to hear people's thoughts when it's released.

Just ran into a shiny hitmonchan in I'd say my second encounter with him, got a bit of a fright when I seen it was shiny as I wasn't hunting him.

Have about 35 to get now to compete the pokedex, is there anyone on here that could help me out?

I got Shield and really enjoyed it, but legendary from Sword is probably better.

My thinking is that more people would have gotten Sword, so I should get Shield then to make it easier to trade

Zacian has higher attack, Zamazenta higher defence.
Mostly you will probably be using them for max raid battles where attack is more important.

I'd say take a look at the version exclusives and then pick whichever one has more things you like really. There's two gyms that are version exclusive as well as the usual Pokemon.

Bought Sword at launch but struggled to get into it. Picked it up again in Feb and finished it in March. Ended up enjoying it a good bit.

Got Home to start bringing through my battle ready mons only to discover that I'd missed the fact that Return/Hidden Power and other moves were no longer usable in the game. This left about 10% of a large number of mons a lot less useful/unusable.

While a filthy genner like me cant complain too much imagine you were the type who legit bred mons for specific HP or reset to get perfect legendaries with the right HP

Shield will need Shield DLC Pack

No buying one version and using it on both games I'm starting shield this afternoon I've already gotten to post game on sword and 73% Pokédex. So only getting Sword version next week

Tundra is out in a few months Armour is next week so you can do both when your switch is back I just paid the €30 there now for my Sword DLC and I'm already two guys in on Shield I might wait for an offer on shopto or base.com for the shield dlc, gonna take a break from posting on all 5he forums for a while myself social media is a little difficult to be on at the moment.

I have been, though my Switch broke and ended up having the save data wiped, so need to start over again which is a bummer. Lost a fair few shinies too.

Dlc was very disappointing 2 and a bit hour long Teddy Rick is the incentive Pokemon you only get one bit there's two choices of the evolution l enjoyed catching some of the Pokemon again but weird combos and the sharknado hunting me down everytime I'm on the water is annoying loved all the dittos though. Really hope the tundra is better

Yeah I was disappointed in the DLC - I thought they shoulda put some of the legendary birds in that one and the Regis in the other - woulda added a bit more content.

In the game overall I at least enjoyed the system for finding a battle online a lot better than the S/M and US/UM system, that was terrible and made me lose interest in battling.
