Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yes joe, you have to pay mechanics.

Joe's driver does all mechanical work, so he isn't in the habit of paying him for specific tasks.

Or does he say, “Don’t worry about the bill, I’ll give you a mention on the show”.

My heart still goes out to Sunita, but theres a few things that don't add up about her story.

    - If the wedding isn't until Sunday why was all the stuff in the car last night?
    - I thought Joe said they came back to Ireland on the 16th. Has the stuff been in the car that whole time?
    - How did she not notice the broken window after driving for 10 minutes. Last night was freezing and windy.
    - She said there was broken glass, did she mean on the ground? If so, then the robbery clearly happened at the husbands house, not Loftus Lane.

    :):)

No idea. I heard the first 5 minutes before setting off on a spin round Mullaghmore Head in a storm with a man who has spent 30 yrs in America driving automatic cars. He hired a Mitsubishi crossover thingy with a manual gearbox.

It almost came to the stage where Tommie (with an ie) Gorman or Eileen Magnier were doing a piece to camera where the car reversed into the ocean in a storm.

Drive safely lads AND LADIES. D'ja heeeer me?.

Not for the faint hearted. I turned off the radio.

And as a contractor he could be sacked by RTE in the morning, such a hard career choice he has taken, up there with the dockers in Dublin circa 1956 :pac:

Apart from the Leeds lad I cannot remember too many folk “sacked” by RTE no matter what status they had out there.

    How many do you know?

None but he always plays this card when being interviewed about his 'contractor' status :D...

The reason RTE have given me a contract like this is that they want to be able to get rid of me tomorrow if needs be, if they decide I’m not flavour of the month.

Maybe I’ve always picked this up wrong, but I thought a “contractor” had either a time based (eg one year, renewable) contract or an output based (when you’ve delivered this project) one. So is it actually easy to say to a contractor, “thanks, we’re all done with you, hasta la vista baby”?

Thinking football managers, they get millions if their contract is terminated early

Yes he plays the contractor card when he suits him, then was moaning when he didn’t get sick pay.....failing completely of course to understand what being a contractor actually means.

Yes, but in RTÉ contracts seem to be perpetual and increasing in value.
