Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Max didn’t obliterate his car going the same route.

Well Max went straight off and took a wider line.

So it wasn’t the same route, was it? Max went straight off and Sainz tried to keep his car on the road initially

Max didn’t obliterate his car going the same route.

Max made the decision early and looked like he almost got an advantage from it. Sainz took it because he was carrying too much speed and ran out of road

But once he realised he needed to go through the bollards he should have carried less speed. His mistake. I don't see how the bollards are the problem

5 second penalty for Lewis for that practice start violation.

Make that 10 for two of the above.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Gaoth Laidir

Hamilton has a 5-second penalty for the practice start.

    Now another 5-second penalty too!

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

5 second time penalty for Hamilton, will they have to serve it at the stop?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

5 second penalty for Lewis - it'll probably make no difference

Wait, 2 violations, so 10 seconds?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,884 ✭✭✭Tzardine

ha ha deadly. thats lewis in the sh1t.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Oh glorious it's two 5 second penalties!

He'll have to take that at the pit stop

    Now Lewis, overcome those odds

    Nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,086 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

So he'll have to serve one penalty in the pit lane and the 2nd will be added to his time at the end?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Failing something absolutely ridiculous, I still wouldn't bet against him being on the podium at the end

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

2nd place will now be 10 seconds closer to Lewis at the end

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,134 ✭✭✭✭pjohnson

    "What happened" "what happened"

Lewis do you not know any rules at all?

It wasnt in his rule book so it doesn't exist.

Could watch Russell, Norris and Albon battle all day. Great stuff.

I think the three lads at the back have decided just to hang back and have a little race between themselves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,010 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

Things could get pretty difficult for Hamilton now

Sounds like he will be serving both together at his pitstop.

In which case currently it is reckoned it would leave him outside of the top 10 - so still some work to do for him.

First thing when he gets out of the car though is he is going to look for the rulebook.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,292 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Are mercedes now trying to secure the race win.

Bottas being told to close the gap at the same time Lewis being told to up the pace.

Now come on, Valtteri, here's your chance. Don't fcuk it up.

  • Registered Users Posts: 621 ✭✭✭weekaizer

Surely Hamilton will be close to a race suspension now with accumalation of penalty points. ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

    Nice clean pass from Perez

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

    "Valtteri close the gap"

Proceeds to fall even further back...

Great overtake by Perez on Danny Ric

It was in the Race Director's Notes. He probably wasn't listening and was on his phone tweeting about BLM.

Who does the race director think he is trying to segregate practice starts and confine them to certain areas.

Hamilton in - wonder where he'll come out

Penalty points aren't awarded for every penalty, far as I know Hamilton currently has none

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Gaoth Laidir

Hamilton during the 10 seconds wait:

    "This is just ridiculous, man".

    Yes. Rules are ridiculous.

He's come out in 11th ahead of Raikonnen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭Cool_CM

Probably the last time that Seb gets to battle with Lewis for position in a Ferrari.

    This won't take long...

    He has 8 apparently

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,010 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

No point Hamilton complaining when he has the talent and the car to get back up through the field

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Yep you're right, would have helped if I wasn't looking at penalties from 2018. Brain fart on my part

There’s some great irony in the driver accused of making the sport boring is now being relied on to liven up this race.

He’s still guaranteed to get 3rd at a minimum barring anything unusual happening

Bottas pumping in some good lap times now. 39 seconds ahead of Lewis.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

Nice, Perez making the overcut work to get in front of the second Renault

  • Registered Users Posts: 870 ✭✭✭barney shamrock

Expect lewis to jump on his scooter straight after the race and angrily scoot down the pit lane to the stewards office.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,219 ✭✭✭Gaoth Laidir

We just do not want a safety car now...

Even after all that. Hamilton still has a guaranteed 3rd place in the bag
