Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Casual mention of how unbelievably popular his Late Late Show is.

More popular than ever. Take that Gay Byrne!!

Must be a reaction to the criticism that the LLS is receiving lately cos of his patronising sermons, regurgitated Z-list guests and abysmal interviews with bigger stars.

On the shop local thing, I would do it far more often if Irish artisans or producers weren't such rip off merchants.

Go to any local market and you wouldn't believe the prices being charged. Many Irish retailers, sellers etc don't help themselves.

So many people seem to think Irish people should just support Irish "businesses" because they're Irish and they are an income for a person.

Why? Business is about supplying a product you choose to buy over another base on service, price, quality. Being Irish and giving an income to an irish person doesn't even come into the equation for me.

If I went out tomorrow and started making candles and selling them, I'd probably get some pity business from people thinking "ah sure he's only himself and he needs the money". But it's not sustainable.

The thing about these "shop local" people is that they don't care about the buyer. They don't care if you get ripped off and you're struggling with money. You have to look out for yourself before looking out for others and if that means going to Amazon, not having to leave my house and getting the same product for 20% less, then I'll do that.

Tubs will be insufferable this morning. He’s interviewing Bob Woodward, him of Watergate. It’ll be “serious Tubs”, with some Trump-bashing thrown in - no kindness for Trump after all.

Obviously this is a pre-record, so he can be home early today. Oh no, he’ll be rehearsing the dance and song that can’t be revealed as it’s a state secret and a matter of national importance.

Was in car, but heard a couple of freebies this morning:

    Tea brack
    Cards
    More cards.

Plus a number of obviously fake letters and texts.

Woodward is a very interesting man. I'd have liked to have been in a position to be have been able to tune into that interview this morning, even with Tubz asking the questions. Should I listen back, or did Bryan try to Disneyfy it?

I'll listen back for Woodward, not Tubs Z.

It's worth a listen, Bob is interesting.
As he was on The Last Word yesterday with Matt.

Difference is, Matt has actually read the book.

If Tubs was so mad about US politics and such a fan of Woodward, you'd think he'd have read Bob's book as soon as it came out.

Tubridy told the Apostolate of St Martin not to send a freebie pack of cards (not to waste their resources) as no doubt he doesn't want to be associated with after sending any Catlick cards this Christmas:D

    So delete dat one, Pie.

Regarding Barm Brack, as Welsh Megaman can verify, de Welsh do have a very popular everyday version over in Cymru, called Bara Brith. Served in every tearoom all year round and especially nice and moist too.

    regurgitated Z-list guests

TBF since the introduction of Zoom and Skype interviews the quality of the guests has gone up. Jane Fonda and Kevin Bacon while not exactly A lister. Are still far better then the usual rabble of Donal Skehan, Dermot Bannon and the Brennan Brothers.

Pity the interviews were still sh1te.

I remember thinking at the time he was given the gig. That Matt Cooper or Dave McWilliams would of made much better successors to Kenny.

    Tubbs won't like this.

    https://www.broadsheet.ie/2020/10/22/hug-many/
The idea of a normal Christmas is a “fiction” and Scots should prepare for digital celebrations, national clinical director Jason Leitch has said.

The government has insisted that the latest Covid-19 restrictions are having an impact on the spread of the virus.

But Prof Leitch told BBC Scotland there was “absolutely no question” of a “normal” Christmas being allowed.

Measures could be eased if case numbers fall, but Mr Leitch said people should “get their digital Christmas ready”.

    Meanwhile…

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the government was making “really tough” decisions and would not “tell people what they want to hear to make it easier in the here and now”.
