If you fail the aaa elective can you carry forward your interim assessment mark from April instead of repeating the interim again?

Yes you can carry forward your interim score, I did when i repeated.

    Wow

    Core 94% pass rate
    AAA 82%
    APM 81%
    Tax ROI 82%
    Tax NI 75%

Compared to just 55% passing in 2011 during the recession, when they wanted less qualifying...

Yeah the second indicator was very tough, I left it until last but ran out of time, didnt think that was examinable

For the tax elective do people include their tax calculations in the answer or an appendix? Bit confused how to go about it, as most solutions have them included in question and not an appendix

I don’t think it matters but I’m only going by the APM some calculations are in the body of the question and some are in appendix - currently up the walls

I think i did an appendix in mine but i had a few pages left in front for them.

Its so hard decided which way to go.
One paper stated that no marks were given to an executive summary.
Im assuming we still do conclusions & recommendations

    Two quick points
A good executive summary would count for professional competence marks.
Small calculations should be included in the main body of your solution while longer detailed computations should ideally be in the appendices to the solution. This is not always possible from a time management viewpoint.

Sick!! Don't feel confident at all!! Just don't know how someone can pass every exam first time and then struggle with APM - 4th attempt very frustrating

  • Registered Users Posts: 50 ✭✭Cinnym

Really don't want to sit that again.
Had a massive headache after the exam.
Hope we all did enough to get over the line.

Same with me on APM, 3rd time sitting. Haven't had much bother with any other topics and where I have I've known where I'm going wrong. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31 LoLo86ACA

Sorry to hear you failed!! Don’t give up and keep at it. I passed by the skin of my teeth on my 4th attempt - hard work and determination does pay off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2 WhyAPM

Congrats to all who passed, I too got it on the 4th attempt thank god! Don't think I could have gone through it again!

For those who didn't get it, don't give up, keep going and you will get there.

Quick question for ye lot, i failed my Advanced Audit for the 2nd time but passed the core(thankfully). Would any of ye have any tips as to how i get over this hurdle? i just can't seem to get it right with this elective exam?

Should I have done the APM(now advisory) instead, is there something inherently harder about this audit exam?

Would ye recommend that i change to APM?

Any help at all will be fantastic, thanks.
