Kanane has 133 career Group one wins. The Bulk of those came over a 6 year span from 98-2003 when he rode 58 group one winners as Head jockey for AOB
just imagine the total He would have IF He were head rider to Coolmore for 20 years

ALSO while employed as head rider to Coolmore from 98-2003 Mick won Champion jockey in Ireland 3 times (98,2002,2003)
oh and by the way He also gripped up 1 Epsom Derby and 2 Irish Derbies.

This first post by you says it all i.e. it was as if you were hoping that Frankie was in fact fired from his current position. Not sure where the animosity comes from but i hope it doesn't stay with you forever. IMO Frankie has been an excellent ambassador for racing and he will be sadly missed, by the majority, when he does leave.

Also i'd say the best thing that ever happened to Frankie was when he lost the Godolphin job as they've been in complete disarray ever since.

Whether or Not Mr.Dettori was released or is still employed is no matter of mine. and despite how you may feel about my"animosity"toward him I have said at least twice on this very board in this very topic that He is a fine quality rider even at this point where his career has clearly slipped. I just don't buy into the hype about him and the praising of him. As far as you believing the best thing to ever happen to him was Godolphin releasing him.well that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. But I'm sure his current financial state says otherwise.

Frankie was a great jockey, he had a great ability to ride from the front and ability to get down really low in the saddle and push the horse out to the line. He was no muck savage bateing horse over the line, but he was a powerful driver of horses and had an excellent clock in his head.

He can still ride well, but the fire isn't there anymore and he has his demons which distract him for now. I forget when he started to give up on chasing the jockeys title and to concentrate on quality, but the spark died a bit then. I'd still have zero problem with him riding a horse that I fancied.

Johnny Murtagh for my money was the canniest and most capable rider in recent years.

You may not like Micks stats but they are what they are. and they support what I've said several times. Frankie Dettori and Saeed bin Suorr have drastically under perform despite having top shelf stock. Mick was given top shelf stock consistently for only 6 years and rode the same 1 Epsom Derby winner that Frankie rode for his entire career and he doubled up Frankie in the Irish derby with 2 wins to Frankies 1 in his career. In just 6 years Mick topped or equaled Frankie in several categories. If you want to go the Breeders cup stats we can go there also. while it is true that Frankie is the only European based jockey to win the Breeders cup classic. Mick is the only jockey in the history of the Breeders Cup to win North Americas richest turf race The Breeders Cup Turf Back to Back When He did it with High Chaparral

You never address the point and refer to the pitman sorry irish derby and english derby as if anyone outside of these islands gives a ****. You referred to turf racing in the states as rubbish in other threads but now its great. Remind how many times frankie won that parrticular race ? .as before same as my question with the arc you will not answer . <snip>

WOW a bit upset are we ? I did address your Arc question You Praised Frankie and I said Lester was better and as far as the Breeders Cup turf. there was a time when that race was competitive. Kalanisi,Daylami,High Chaparral and conduit among its winners.

When the pressures off hes different class, think the bigger rides for his new owners put pressure on him in recent years and that camelot ride etc but hes like a free lance the way hes riding at the moment and flying.

Good to see him ride a few winners, might get lucky and add a few big races to his CV this season all going well.

He's had a hugely positive impact on racing in terms of adding a bit of colour and winning over new fans.
Of course he's in your face and is self serving(what jockey isn't self serving???!?!?) but he's a character and racing needs characters.
He's much better off riding after a few lines of cocaine than riding with litre of whiskey in his system so I'm not going to judge him on that offence.

See Fallon is knocking in a few races at lower levels too

It would be nice if either of them have a Johnny Murtagh kind of a year as per 2013. Think Fallon had his shot when he got the Goldolpin call
