Agreed. On TUF she was actually a naturally pretty girl, albeit with an oversized boob job.

Now (according to my wife who knows more about these things than I do) she seems to have had her lips, cheeks, eyes and possibly arse altered and she's starting to look a complete state.

I remember Rousey giving Tate stick about having a boob job and whilst that was just Rousey being her usual bitchy self, I could see her point. When you're in an industry where you get kicked and punched for a living, why have implants put in your chest that are going to be battered constantly? Not to mention the loss of flexibility, and the surgically added weight to a body that already struggles getting down to fight weight.

Same goes for Ostovich. Why spend a ton of money on adjusting your facial features, when you're going to earn a crust getting punched in the bake?

It would be like buying an expensive new motor and going stock car racing in it.

I'd assume at her age that getting the lips, cheeks, eyes done means fillers rather than implants. The difference being fillers being temporary.

Temporary yes, but still souping up your face and then going into a fist fight doesn't make a heap of sense to me.

Well fighting can certainly have an impact on your looks, short and long term. I reckon I'd wait til after the fight before spending money on fillers.

I'm not sure I follow your logic there.
Fighting can affect your looks whether you get fillers or not. A crooked nose will still be crooked after the fillers wear off.

Things like corrective surgery, of course, wait until your finished smashing your face.

This is why I think it's ridiculous. You don't even have to be suspected to get banned.

USADA officials added that Rodriguez was eligible for a reduction in his sentence because “his conduct did not raise suspicion that he was trying to avoid being available for testing.”

Why? It can very easily be argued that PED testing in combat sports is more important than in any other because of the capacity to gravely injure your opponent

Nonsense. It's not even remotely "completely handing over a right to privacy". It's an agreement to abide by a particular set of rules, something Yair and Jouban did knowingly and willingly.

Why is the rule silly? If you want MMA to be credible as a sport, legitimate drug testing procedures have to be in place. In order to drug test, the fighter has to make themselves available.

Sure. And by that logic you could say "In order for MMA to be legitimate, in-cage rules need to be in place" but that doesn't mean the 12-to-6 elbow rule in isolation isn't a bit silly.

It's a bit much to suggest that Alan Jouban should not fight just because he wants to be able to have a life outside of fighting that doesn't necessitate him being at the beck & call of regulators 24 hours a day.

Rules aren't always set in stone. They can be changed and modified. In most cases it's better to work WITH the people you're trying to regulate rather than tell them to "**** off and get another job" as you put it.

And there are specific protocols to enable them to that. It doesn't contradict the statement that athletes are completely at the beck and call of USADA 24 hours a day the way you appear to think it does. The athlete designates where they'll be etc and are able to update this information no problem.

If I wanted to really nitpicky, I'd point out that there are actually specific times where USADA can test you. I think it's 22:00-06:00.

I’m kinda confused what you are getting at. You seem to be against the rule in other posts, but this is the exact reason why it is required.

I’m very surprised at the amount of people saying it’s silly and such. I think it’s it’s absolutely crucial to proper drug testing, and assumed most would have agreed.
It’s not like UFC fighters have extra requirements. It’s exactly the same in Olympic sports, tennis, cycling etc

Harsh. Sure some of those rules are crazy strict. Very unfair on the athletes. Really infringes on their privacy. Overreach from USADA.
