Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

We should all have a zoom Christmas light ceremony where we plug in our trees in unison....in late November (runs for the hills)

But what about the folk that wait until Dec 1st!!?!??!?

Nice idea though. But would involve revealing our true identities!!!

I put it up in jest as I was in no way going to log in to something with my real name. Could be a post a picture Christmas light thread. Or if there is a way of hiding the zoom name. I am in no way techy.

We use it for work but every account is linked to an email address, you could of course just set up a gmail or suchlike just for the ceremony though:D

Hopefully the start of Winterval in Waterford can be added to that list

May I also add the start of the darts world championships on Sky. Start date hasn't been confirmed yet but normally 2nd/3rd week of December (Thursday or Friday night)

August bank holiday can be marked off, and I suppose the Argos catalogue can be deleted or crossed off too.

    Probably yes.
I never imagined so many of my things wouldn’t have happened back when I did the list.
At least Argos are still doing the gift guide in October.

One of the articles I read last week said they were anyway!

Just went back to the first page to read the items left and was reading a few of the posts from January.

Who would have guessed where we would be 7 months later :(

This is one of the reasons I love boards it really captures the year. Facebook and IG can’t offer the same really.

On the plus side, the next thing should hopefully be the opening of the Brown Thomas Christmas shop. :)

I know there's no Rose of Tralee this year but Daithi is after recording a documentary on the Rose of Tralee recently and it will probably air at the time it was meant to be on!

We might watch it as we normally watch the Roses and get a tub of sweets for it l. However we haven’t watched RTÉ since around the June Bank holiday.

I'd rather watch the angelus on repeat than watch anything rose of tralee related... its just not my bag at all.

It's something we sort of watch.
It wasn't watched for years but now we sort of do.
But it's mainly watched now because we get our first tub of sweets for it.
The Late Late Show is another story tough.

Ah to be fair, that Christmas UK site , twitter & FB account is great, I love following their stuff. Come Sept 16th (100 days from Christmas) they really ramp up & are great for the adverts in particular which to a christmas advert junkie like me is the business.

Always say it, once we get into double digits it really starts to pick up a pace, we'll be sat here posting that we're finishing up work for the christmas break & that it really flew in or suchlike... happens every year, I get my own peak build up in November with the adverts & christmas FM launch, then enter 3 weeks of a work whirlwind that almost blots out christmas before we actually finish up. Thankfully with all the extra leave I have this year I'll be finishing up early so can enjoy the week before christmas rather than finish up on the 23rd.

Had to cancel my holiday to go to my cousins wedding in April due to covid. So instead I just took all my holidays in December. Will be finishing up work late November and not back until like Jan 5th or 6th. Will be a nice break!
