Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lads, am I going mad or if you were admin on a league from the past season, I thought that automatically opens up again does it not? So it saves the admin the bother of sending codes to the same guys from last season

You have to re-activate the league. Anyone who was in it last year will be automatically added again once they sign up.

Dont know if this is new or not,but ur team must be 2 weeks old and not using a chip to win a weekly prize, might stop all those Egyptian teams setting up every week and doing ME out off a prize

An All England World Cup 15

Might be a bit light in midfield but otherwise pretty decent

The short gap between the finish of the World Cup and the start of the Premier League will make this difficult. Had Lovren and De Bruyne in early drafts of my team, but that draws its own worries.

Fingers crossed they bring it back at some point! I guess draft is less demanding on resources compared to ufpl which seemed to be part of the issue they had with it.

Up for giving draft another go, but ideally in a league of 6 players. No more than 8 anyway.

    Great news guys
Ben foster has signed for Watford so he can disappoint us all season long again

In what voodoo actually be good news though Harry Maguire is being strongly linked with spurs . That would please me

    £4.0 defenders, our favourite subject

    Name|Team| League Appearances 17/18
    Jack Simpson|Bournmouth|1
    Markus Suttner|Brighton|13(1)
    Ezequiel Schelotto|Brighton|14(4)
    Matthew Connolly|Cardiff|4
    Lee Peltier|Cardiff|27(3)
    Ashley Jazz Richards (lol)|Cardiff|5(1)
    Greg Halford|Cardiff|2(10)
    Martin Kelly|Crystal Palace|12(3)
    Aaron Wan-Bissaka|Crystal Palace|7
    Scott Malone|Huddersfield|12(10)
    Yohan Benalouane|Leceister|1
    Chancel Mbemba|Newcastle|7(2)
    Sam McQueen|Southampton|1(6)
    Jan Bednarek|Southampton|5
    Ryan Bennett|Wolves|27(2)
    Danny Batth|Wolves|15(1)
    Roderick Miranda|Wolves|16(1)

Some interesting options there. The two that jump out immediately are Peltier from Cardiff and Bennett from Wolves. Bennett in particular is highly rated from Wolves fans from what I've heard.

    Agreed.

It's going to be hard to negotiate the rest that the likes of Kane, Firmino and other heavy-hitters may get.

An early wildcard may be essential?

One strategy might just be to go with (almost) guaranteed starters and then wildcarding at the first international break?

Ryan Bennett, is the bast@rd who stole Mickey Turner's place in the Norwich team.

Would that cloud my judgment on him that he was an accident waiting to happen in terms of yellow cards and own goals?

    Remains to be seen :pac:

Yeah he was the one that jumped out from a quick look at first 6 fixture rotations too

De Gea is a massive 6m. That utd defence is going to be a nightmare to get coverage of

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,772 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

My plan as it stands is to have just the one solid sub, a 4.5 DEF, then have a 4.0 DEF and a 4.5 FOR. May chicken out of that as time moves on and I'm unsure of starting XI's etc. But I've come to the conclusion that there's no need for having a bench full of starters, especially at the expense of weakening your starting XI.

Can't fathom how Valencia is 6.5m when you can get Azpi for the same price.

Yeah. Haven't United signed a new RB too so he's not even a guaranteed starter.

Yeah, 19-year-old Diogo Dalot. I'd say Valencia will start the vast majority of games this season though as Dalot gets used to life in England.

I'm aiming to have 15 starters
Bench boost within 3 weeks and then wildcard
Did that 2 years ago and worked well

Held BB for dgw last season and when I take into account points hits I'd say I broke even at the very best
I will hold fh this year though
Got lucky the week I played it last year but need to hold it for the skinny week this time

    Jones 5.5 if he's fit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 48,254 ✭✭✭✭km79

    Jones 5.5 if he's fit?

Even though he eventually served me well for s period last year the problem is
    “If he’s fit “
He won’t be for half the season
    Bailly is now fit
Lindelof having a good WC and a year settled
Smalling seems to have impressed Jose
And alderweireld or another CB will sign

Don’t think jones will be an option

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42,193 ✭✭✭✭Scorpion Sting

Jones could be sold when a new CB is signed.

Yeah I'm not sold on a DGW BB anymore. It ends up taking too much focus and funds trying to shoehorn in out of form players from poor teams. Don't know about an early BB, mainly because it's gonna be difficult to nail 15 guaranteed starters from the off.

I only did it that year as I ended up with the 15 starters
So will wait a week or 2 and see how I’m fixed

In fact I think I may even have done it gw5/6 after my first WC the year before taht too
Last season was my first and last year holding B.B. for the DGW

In joke? It says it's Saturday 2pm on the site.

GW2's deadline currently says 2pm on Saturday too, there's an early game on before that.

Yeah that was a given seeing as the transfer window closes on the Thursday.

Utd v Leicester on friday night.
Must have updated the site, 7pm on the 10th is the GW deadline.

Transfer window has nothing to do with the GW deadline.
    Or am I missing something?

This year the window closes before the season starts so it closing on Thursday meant it was certain that there would be a Friday start.

Even more hectic for the teams that sign them with games 48 hours later !
Very early WC likely for me

Naby Keita is very attractive at 7.5m, no world cup, Salah coming back from injury, the Ox out, Firmino going deep in the world cup

Kane and Sane. With no World Cup for Sane, and England going in deep into the competition, Sane should be the preferred option over Sterling.

    But then again.....Pep.
