Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hey McShape, do you find bb hits leave any marks on the oakleys? was thinking of using mine if i can find them or getting a new pair when im in the states over the summer..

puding loving the IDF loadout looking at the new IDF swat style vest myself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

Puding: Tighten the drawstrings on the bottom of the fleace, IDF soliders do not wear it undone like so, its generally upto the belt buckle. and let a little slack into the vest :) Otherwise looks good, though the unarmoure and lidless loadout suits the m4 more than the TAR-21 as a REMF loadout :P

Like it :) Will post up my IDF gear soon too :)

No they were literally bulletproof, PolyCarbonate lenses, That being said, i got no hits up close, and only wore them for one game, was too dark in the forest so switched to the ESS ICE glasses, The nice thing about the Oakleys is the coating on the plastic, the more you sweat, the more grip on your nose bridge they appear to have!

Load out: 1942 reinforced jumpsuit, captains helmet with netting and scrim, scarf made from camo parachute, webbing inc chest harness with 1911 and thompson, jumpboots, leather gloves. Also the bottom photo shows the original suit(left) but if you look close enough you will see the suit has since been treated with paint to give a camo look as per the pathfinders on DDay(they used plane paint at the airfield hours before the big jump to help break up the colour of the suit)

Hey folks, I'm new to airsoft and I'm looking for a passable Vietnam loadout. I'd prefer 1st pattern but not too bothered if I can get 2nd or 3rd for a good price. Could anyone point me in the direction of a good supplier?

I've been searching Ebay for the better part of 2 weeks and all I can find are small/medium or large-short items. I'm 6'2"ish and skinny (the gut would beg to differ). I saw Masada an a couple of others in a great loadout, maybe they could give me advise on where to look? Maybe they'd even be interested in selling off a few bits and pieces they don't use too often as this will be my main loadout.

Realistically, Ebay is your best bet to get stuff at a reasonable price. there are some other sites where you can get it but they can be a little hefty on the price tag. SoldierofFortune is a good source of equipment but it can get pricey. moore militaria in america is another very good one.

Hey man, thanks a million for those sites! Yeah, they're a bit on the expensive side but I don't have to search endlessly for gear that's gonna fit! Besides, after shipping from Thailand (a ton of stuff seems to come from there) anything I find on Ebay will probably end up about the same price. Thanks again. o7

    @Dread-Lock
Yeah - I only thought of the fact that we never medic'd you earlier today. I guess it was inevitable that you'd be freed in some form of treachery or betrayal anyway, so I guess we'd have ended up with you back in the field before too long either way.

Yeah the guard looked extremely puzzled when we kept getting up and walking back to the safe zone :D. Although it would have been interesting to try and escape and run around without any guns for 5 minutes ;).
And if it wasn't for that treachery we would have been a little stuck as you had like half our team in prison at one point, although you let around half of them bleed out :p.

Yeah ... I think that the need to brap temporarily took over our sense. It would have been the way forward to just medic ye all back in and leave you there under guard for the day. Then we could have dealt with the 'so called survivors' without having to worry about the villagers as well.
Oh well ... lesson learned for the rematch. I have to say, I had the craic over on our side of the field with our little territory war over that feckin mound of nettles - at least all you had to do was stand behind a van - we were crawling around in nettles like a bunch of numpties! No win - total fail.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,893 ✭✭✭Dread-Lock

Oh hell yeah that was a fun little battle we had all to ourselves :D.
And hats off to you for sticking it out in the nettles that long, I was held up on the mound later in the game for a short while. And with only a sleeveless top on I had to watch myself. Still got stung though, same arm that was bleeding from when I got shot when you finally rushed me.

starting of a team based on the USMC using both desert and woodland marpat as loadouts with the near to correct vest and a equipment, not too exact but with a bit of realism, after all its only airsoft :)

They're bloody mint! I've a couple of pairs of these (you know, for gucci and non-gucci loadout).
As someone who suffered through breaking in 'proper' hiking boots before discovering airsoft, I can't get over how much the magnum boots are practically as comfy as a pair of cons (if perhaps a bit heavier).

If I get the M90 BDUs (which I probably will) I'll get a nice pair to go along. Actually, I like my Docs:) They weigh a tonne but I need the exercise[I blame tesco bargains].

Cheers for the that Bulletts, aye chalk it down, it was starting to take its toll on me. Thanks for the comment on it...I tried to keep it the design as original as possible bar the type of van used....the gmc van was too expensive and unreiable to run.....the hiace was the best option as no one has ever done a proper a team style hiace before...I'll be sure to be seen driving around limerick soon....with the grey wig and cigar of course;)

Spotted an A-Team like van before in Limerick.
Am pretty sure it was not a GMC van (I know nothing about vans and makes of cars n stuff) but around the Limerick Area there was a company that had what looked very very simlar to an A-Team van that drove about the place and called themelves the A-Team. I'm not sure but
I think they were some form of Carpet Cleaner business.
