December 2011 Boards forecast contest

Last chance for glory, and the questions are the usual with a bonus:

1. Predict the IMT (deg C) for the five stations used. The most recent (1981-2010) 30-year average is 5.4 C ... before that (1971-2000), 5.7 and before that (1961-90), 5.3 ... figures courtesy of Deep Easterly.

2. Predict the maximum temperature at any Met-IE station (deg C)

3. Predict the minimum temperature at any Met-IE station (deg C)

4. Predict the precip (rainfall plus liquid equivalent of snow etc) as a percentage of normal values, for eleven stations around Ireland as per the Monthly Summary (met-IE).

5. Predict the sunshine hours as percentage of normal for the six stations used in the Monthly Summary (met-IE).

6. Bonus, as usual for December, predict the min and max temperature during the 24-hour calendar day for 25 December at Dublin Airport. As we've already got a snow date bonus underway (not yet decided) we won't score a white Christmas forecast but make one if you want.

Deadline for entries without penalty will be 0300h 2nd, or basically before you go to bed on Wednesday night 1st of December ... entries in the next 24hours after that will be docked 10% if 60+ (not to fall below 60) and the second day late is same deal, 50%, then locked and loaded.

Note: the October contest is still subject to revised final scores as no official snow observation has been verified. Current provisional scores were based on Monday 28 Nov so if you have a bonus score marked + you will probably increase. Current indications show some potential for later in this coming week so changes may only be one point in that case.
