Shamardal is getting some 2 year old winners this year, another group 1 winner so he probably has the top 3 rated two year olds in europe

Size isn't everything ( Waldgeist has the build of a whippet in comparison to the bull sized build of Enable ) but breeding would break out in an ass. "As befitting the pre-eminent sire, the last word goes to Galileo, who not only sired the winner, fourth and fifth (Magical), but also appears as grandsire of Enable and damsire of third-placed Sottsass."

Former Ballydoyle 3yo Cape Of Good Hope ( a full brother to Highland Reel ) won the Grade 1 Ladbrokes Stakes over 1m 2f at Caulfield to put Galileo on 83 individual G1 winners, just 1 behind the all time record of 84 set by Danehill..

    That's 8 G1 winners so far in Galileo's 2016 crop, a crop who are still only 3yos.

    Line Of Duty
    Hermosa
    Anthony Van Dyck
    Sovereign
    Circus Maximus
    Japan
    Search for a Song
    Cape Of Good Hope

That's incredible and more so given that Galileo is getting on now.

Amazing how well European raced sons of Galileo do going down to Australia seeing as he was considered a flop when he stood there. Cape of Good Hope is probably a good stallion prospect down there he may be seen as a bit speedier than his brother Highland Reel. The dam is an Oz Gr.1 winner with speed

Another son of Monsun joins the Coolmore NH ranks as Maxios is purchased from Germany. Incidentally he was bred in GB and trained in France so quite a cosmopolitan sort!

No Nay Never filly Lady Scatterley won a 1m4f maiden today at Pontefract. It wasn't much of a race, but it's the first 12f winner by No Nay Never which gives a wee bit of encouragement to the idea that No Nay Never can start producing high class 8-10f with his better bred crops to come. Also the No Nay Nevers seem to be coping very well on the Soft ground that's been around for the last few weeks, they seem to go on anything.

Gleneagles in his first Group 1 win (shown in 5th place) about 2f out in the National Stakes at The Curragh 14/09/2014.
He had a few useful 2yos in 2019. Royal Lytham might be useful in 2020 (saddle slipped last start).

Undoubtedly he had a very promising start and he's bred to bequeath class by his genes alone.

The question is where will he go from here, next year? It's likely that his stock will be best at 7-10f as they mature. Could they get the Derby trip?

Gleneagles wasn't properly tried at anything over a mile himself ( bar a washout in the Breeders Cup Classic on Dirt.) His full brother Taj Mahal is off to stud in France this year and he won twice at G2 level over 12f in decent company in Australia. Their very near cousin Decorated Knight was best at 10f.

All 3 young sires are Galileo X ( full sisters to Giant's Causeway ). There's plenty of reason to think that Galileo X Giant's Causeway would produce 12f horses and we'll begin to see how that works out with the Gleneagles 3yos.

All these repeated and highly successful Galileo matings to the same dam time and time again are going to leave behind a huge volume of full siblings to pore over as they hit the breeding sheds.

Magical is to be covered by No Nay Never next year and Fairyland is set to be covered by Galileo.

2 excellent choices, although sending Magical to a speed stallion might seem a little simplistic, it has already been shown that Galileo mares click with speedy US bred sires such as War Front.

There's a nice blend involved in sending Magical to No Nay Never. Magical probably gets her Soft Ground ability from her Pivotal Dam and Magical herself is versatile with regards ground, sending her to No Nay Never promises to keep that any ground versatility going with the addition of the speed and precocious potency of the Scat Daddy line. The No Nay Nevers are fantastic looking animals and Magical's one will have been beautifully prepared by the time we see it ( #tasty )

A championship class speed filly such as Fairyland going to Galileo is par for the course now. They have have already spent multiple millions buying less well bred sprinters to send to him.

Magna Grecia off to stud at Coolmore as befits a nicely bred 2,000 Guineas winner. His being a G1 winner at 2 as well is a great selling point.

    But, but, but...

After years of avoiding the temptation to stuff the place with sons of Galileo, Coolmore is now Top Heavy with Galileo blood..

For next year the Galileo blood line up is

    Galileo
    Australia
    Ruler Of The World
    Gleneagles
    Churchill
    The Gurkha
    Highland Reel
    Gustav Klimnt
    Saxon Warrior ( Dam)
    Magna Grecia ( Dam )
Us Navy Flag ( Dam )

They also have in the pipe line Epsom Derby winner AVD coming on stream and Arc 4th Japan to fit in. St James Palace Stakes winner Circus Maximus as a miler being as desirable as either of them.

Irish Derby Winners Sovereign and Capri are probably never going uo make it into the Coolmore roster and Kew Gardens is another that is unlikely to fit the flat roster.

Is it possible to have too much of a good thing?

Methinks Ruler Of The World is the likeliest for the chop, he will probably head off to South Africa to join his half brother the Duke.

Trying to keep a file of stallions at stud is tricky.
    Today's moves -
Pour Moi moves from Ireland to France
Feel Like Dancing moves from France to Ireland
Donjuan Triumphant (new sire) goes to stud in France.

Too Darn Hot to stand @ Dalham Hall with a £50,000 fee.

The fee is very fair in the current market and he should be very well supported. Dubawi is a Sire OF Sires so all should go well on the expectations front for him and TDH is out of a Blue Hen mare so there's double quality running through him.

There's just one small question over his future stallion career. Like Frankel, Too Darn Hot's apparent speed was at odds with his pedigree ( Singspiel, Top Ville on the Dam side ) so the TDH's should be better stayers than your average Dubawi and the Dubawi presence itself should make sure that there are plenty of 8-12f performers in his stock.

He will make a very nice mate for top class middle distance mares such as Enable. While TDH was an early maturing type the extended family are slower maturing types. It all promises to combine into a very successful stallion career.

Well that didn't take long. At least he's staying in the Northern Hemisphere and the French should actually appreciate his quality.

Derby hero Ruler Of The World, whose first crop of three-year-olds includes three-time Group 1 winner and Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf entrant Iridessa, is being relocated to Haras de Bouquetot in Normandy.

The impeccably-bred son of Galileo is owned jointly by Al Shaqab Racing – whose stallion operation is headquartered at Bouquetot – and Coolmore, where he has spent his first five seasons.

His introductory fee in France has been set at €6,000, live foal terms, and he will be available to view at Bouquetot during the Arqana December Sale.

Got a spare €25k then you'll be spoiled for choice. Zoffany is down a little but likely to produce a few good ones over the next few years.

EDIT: Hadn't spotted that €150k ( up €50k ) for No Nay Never... WOW

It's like they just fell off the face of the planet. They're no longer listed on any coolmore site, their Coolmore stallion pages come as unfound so they are likely to be finished at Coolmore. Maybe the deals for them haven't been completed yet. A Google search brings up no announcements about where they are headed.

Of the three I thought that War Command was a good young sire, the other two not so good.

They'll turn up after a while. Coolmore has now become so dominant and successful at producing stallions that it's no longer just a stallion farm. It has become a farm for selling stallions.

They could be off to the UK, France, South Africa, Chile, Argentina or even India which is where Roderic O Connor ended up. I can't think of any War Front Stallion standing in the UK, certainly not one of the stature of War Command.

    Agreed
Crystal Ocean possibly the best of the new stallions in Coolmore NH
Blue Bresil to Rathbarry an excellent addition to their NH roster
Mount Nelson a big loss to Boardsmill

Galileo matches Danehill's all-time record of 84 Group/Grade 1 winners as Magic Wand's Mackinnon Stakes win drew the son of Sadler's Wells level

    https://www.racingpost.com/bloodstock/bloodstock-latest/magic-wand-from-eur14-million-yearling-to-galileos-84th-group-grade-1-winner/408275

Really glad to see that smashing filly Magic Wand gain a long overdue G1 success and just 4 days after running in the Melbourne Cup.

I guess there's a reason why so many of her dam Prudenzia's offspring have made multimillion sales figures. Magic Wand joins her €6m worth half sister Chicquita as a G1 winner.

Kingman fee goes from GBP 75,000 to GBP 150,000.
The logic must be that is you charge enough people think he must be worth it.
If a cover was free owners would not use a stallion.
About 3% to 4% of runners break even.
Kingman had 235 recorded coverings in 2019, so presumably 235 winners of the 2000 guineas and Derby in 2023.

    Waldgeist to Ballylinch @€;17,500

It's a pity that they didn't keep him in France or Germany where he could have been a star stallion. Big race winning Galileo Stallions are 10 a penny in these parts.

He's very well bred, a G1 winner at 2, 4 and 5 and not short of speed. Is it a good thing or a bad thing that he's a smallish fella?
