Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If you switch to the UK version does that have any impact on your deliveries etc to Ireland. I.e. do you have to give them a UK address and if so will that mean your deliveries, billing etc will all see that as the primary address?

Switch to UK & make the most of it now while you can. After Brexit you won't be able view UK prime legally.

The only reason we can watch UK prime in Ireland is because of an EU directive stating that you have a right to take the content from your home country to another EU country. We give a UK address & we can use UK prime anywhere in the EU. After Brexit this directive not only doesn't include the UK but basic copyright law will stop the UK allowing a non EU country (the UK) form providing content into the EU.

Life as we know it will change after Brexit. Buying goods from Amazon UK will incur Irish VAT and excise duty. We will all shop on Amazon France or Amaz Germany because buying from the UK will be too expensive

I was able to change without using customer service chat. I had my delivery and credit card addresses set to parcelmotel. Then I went into my cc (revolut) and set it to the same address. There's a section in your account, content and devices, make sure it's set to UK.

I changed my Country/Region Settings to United Kingdom (in Account-> Manage Your Content & Devices -> Preferences Country/Region Settings) and when I did so I got a 'success' box pop up. When I go to prime-instant-video I get a message saying that some videos may not be be available to watch from your location. Go to PrimeVideo, com to see the video catalogue in the ROI.

Any thoughts on what I did wrong?

    Thanks

Have you got the revolut card set as your 1-click purchase option with your parcel motel address as the billing address (I mean billing address on amazon not in the revolut app).

Yeah, 1 click set to parcel wizard and revolut card with same address. Will try to get a live chat agent...
    Thanks

Went to see if The Act was on on prime, seen it there happy days. Go to watch it and turns out I need a subscription to STARS PLAY.

    WTF.

Is there anyway to just see what's on prime as opposed to what isn't?

Grand, is it possible to setup the app on tv and phone to just show what's available on prime?

I know it sounds simple but cannot find the option in settings, it's no wonder Netflix is so popular.

Primevideo.com only shows Prime content available in Ireland. You can't rent or buy stuff or add on channels like Starz, so it sounds like you're using Prime Video UK. Use this link so: https://www.justwatch.com/uk/new

Yeah I have it setup for the UK content. Both my phone and TV app show "the act" as available but when I click into in it say's i need to subscribe to Starzplay whatever the hell that is.

They really need to look at what Netflix are doing in terms of usability. There should be a setting to show prime content only, not what's available if I subscribe to something else. Maybe I've the wrong app downloaded on my phone or the amazon app on my TV is the wrong one?

If it’s any help, Starz Play (or at least a version of it) is available in Ireland via the Apple TV app (in fact it is the only thing in Apple TV channels right now) and it has The Act. 7 days free then €4.99 pm, though there’s not much on it.

It always kills me when I see another show I'm semi-interested in end up on Starz Play, cause no way I'm subscribing to yet another streaming service.

    Hey,

I have a prime account on Amazon.co.uk, and heard Fleabag is available to watch in Ireland, yet it keeps telling me that it cannot be watched from my location. Anyone know what the story is? Cheers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,213 ✭✭✭Keith186

Season two is available in Ireland but not season one.

Neither will work on a firestick if it's a uk one. Try playing on your phone or tablet then use the 'watch on' whatever device you have as a workaround.

Phone/tablet app is the handiest to see what actually is available for ROI.

You can switch to the UK version via customer service chat, see the thread in bargain alerts for details.

Thanks a million for the response. It works on the Amazon prime app, any reason why it won't stream on the website though?

I signed up for Prime roughly this time last month yet have found myself locked out of my account for security reasons. Amazon won't resolve this by email. Any one come across this poor service? If I have to ring I'll be ringing to cancel the sub nevermind unlocking the account.

I wouldn't call it poor service

Have you tried to reset your password on Amazon UK site? Can you do live chat or do you need to phone for security reasons?

I have tried to reset password and you can't do live chat without being able to log in.

In this day and age it is poor service imo if they're asking you to ring them at a cost in order to do something as basic as unlocking an account. I did not lock myself out btw; I just tried to log on for the first time in a few weeks and they sent me an otp code to do so, one I entered correctly.

Is there any chance that you are using cap lock without knowing it? Sometimes on a pc keyboard someone will turn off numbers by mistake? Outside of that I'm out of ideas as to why your password wouldn't work originally and then for password reset not to work.

Email them and ask for a callback? That'll usually get them to ring...

Can't even bloody find an email contact address! :) only their 24/7 twitter account which is essentially a bot directing you to ring them.

I ended up ringing them on Tuesday and was asked the most bizarre questions such as for the phone number of my bank on the back of my card.

I was told they would escalate my case and get a response within 24 hours...still nothing.

I'm not being unreasonable surely in thinking an operation of this size not having email support when stuff like this happens is seriously shoddy? Only positive is that they haven't charged me since my trial has ended.

Does anyone know what the story is with the Seinfeld episode ordering? They don't match with imdb which I know goes by broadcast but some episodes aren't even in the same season on both platforms.

3 days ago Amazon realised I'm actually in Ireland, not the UK and has locked me out of the UK content.

Did this happen to anyone else? Or, what have I (or my kids) done to the settings?

The address they have is a Parcel Motel one in Belfast.

They aren't supposed to do this under EU law. Obviously you make them believe that you are from the UK but then you are allowed to use your UK content anywhere in the EU. Well at least until the UK leaves the EU. At that stage we will all be geo locked out of UK content without VPN.

Unless you have told them that you live in Ireland rather than the UK I would think that they will unlock you again

To be clear, the Portability Regulation only allows you to access your home country’s content when you are on holidays or a short business trip - it does not allow you to access that content if you move permanently to another Member State.

I've been watching Seinfeld the last few weeks and got a bit confused as well.
Apparently they broadcast it in the wrong order when it first came out. I can't seem to find the link about it.
Season 1 and 2 are bundled together as well.

Its in the right order but not in broadcast order... I think.

Agreed but you can live in the UK at the weekend and work in Ireland Monday to Friday. Its breaks EU regulations blocking the UK content in this case.

A few weeks ago I noticed The Walking Dead Season 8 & 9 were on the Prime Video tvOS app. I cn remember checking that they were actually available as I've noticed some content appears, but is not playable. I don't remember if Season 9 was available but the first few seconds of 8 played.

Last night I sat down to watch Season 8 and it was not on the app at all.

On the iOS app and the Prime video website there is several different collections of The Walking Dead - a set of seasons 1 to 6 which are available and a set of seasons 1 to 9 with only only 7 and 8 available.

Is it like this with other shows?

I had been getting UK content for ages on my Prime Video account here in Ireland but card I used to pay for it expired and I never spotted this and account was cancelled. Since then I have a load of issues getting back this content, I am wondering can anyone advise me what way they have it setup?

I currently have on my Amazon account - 2 addresses an Irish and UK one and just 1 payment card Irish one. I have default address as UK one and my 1 click settings set to UK also. Is there something here I need to change?

As recently I have been signing up to Irish version for €2.99 a month and then contacting a chat agent to switch my content to UK as seen here on a previous boards thread. This has proven a lot harder then before to change and last time I was told to remove my payment card and they changed my location settings I think and then got me to add card back in again. However after my first month is up and due to take my next payment my Prime account stops working and I have to go through same procedure again, as stated in first paragraph this never used to be the case.

Just wondering has anyone any tips what I need to do?? I would like to have this sorted before Brexit kicks in as can imagine be a lot harder to get UK content then!!

Have been reading a lot of threads on here and there is a lot of conflicting advice. I have a prime video subscription, but not all my tv's are smart tv's where I can load the prime app - although they are full HD. I also have one 4K tv which I would like to use the firestick 4k for IPTV,and I want to future-proof myself for the inevitable 4K upgrades. My questions are these :

    1. If I use parcel motel as my primary address will I get prime video here?

    2. If not, people are saying contact Amazon and tell them I live in the UK, can they not tell by the device itself where it is?

    3. Some people are also saying tell them I live in the UK but work in Ireland, is using the firestick while travelling allowed?

Just to be clear, I don't want to use a VPN, and I don't want to have to use side-loaded apps to watch prime video, just want to get what I pay for. I know they ship a "basic" firestick here, but going by reviews it only has a function of the functionality of the 4K version, and obviously the picture quality wont be as good.

If anybody can enlighten me it would be greatly appreciated....thanks

I have UK Prime. All I did was:

    1. Have previously had things ordered and delivered to Parcel Motel’s UK address.
    2. Register a Sterling currency card with Revolut as payment method.
    3. Contact customer care and ask them to change it. My request was sent on as the team that handles hose weren’t online at the time.
    4. Got an email the next morning to say they had processed my request.
    5. Changed payment method back to original AIB card.

Not sure you even need to go the route I did with the sterling Revolut card but I thought it might help my cause. :)
