It's a happy, happy day, Tar. I've just finished the 1/4 pounder mozzarella burger there from LindaMcC.. I have to say, it is the most meat like product I have ever tasted. Absolutely EPIC! If I wasn't so full, i'd eat a second.:o
Those sound amazing, big fan of mozzarella but have been put off by veggie burgers in the past. thanks for the info!! :D

Do stick with veggie food related bargins in future. We don't want to end up with a heap of cheap drink offers! They are best placed in Bargin Alerts.

Now Dunnes have 25% off chilled Quorn products till 29th Nov.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 582 ✭✭✭Thoushaltnot

Tesco have them reduced from a fiver to €4 (well - €4.99 ->€3.99), till the 2nd Jan 2012. A couple of the Linda McCartney items too.

The nearby Iceland had the roasts as well but weren't displaying the price.

What Quorn was on display was mostly €3, which is a bit more than I'd expect to pay in Tesco, so I wouldn't be rushing to Iceland at all at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 582 ✭✭✭Thoushaltnot

:o Anyhow, till Tuesday next, the 17th, Dunnes have the red onion burgers and pepper steaks and lasagne (all fridge rather than freezer stock) for 25% off.

And Iceland have reduced a few Quorn items like the herb & garlic/crispy fillets to €1.50. This time they have the mince and pieces for €3, with 50% extra free. The last time they had that promotion, the packs were all normal size (ie. no 50% extra free, so not really a bargain).

Tesco have their leek and cheese sausages and bean burgers @ 2 for 3€ (usually 2.49 each)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 582 ✭✭✭Thoushaltnot

All Linda McCartney stuff is now €1.25 in Dunnes till 7th Feb. Admittedly a limited range but a few items nonetheless.

In other news, I'm no longer living near a Superquinnn, so am not posting any of their veg*n bargains and therefore not supporting that Irish business - if anyone could keep tabs and post up, I'd appreciate it.

Did this just start today? As I was in there shopping last night & all Linda McCartney items I bought were full price.

If they have the Mozzarella quarter pounders at that price I'm going to buy loads - they're amazing burgers.

Has anyone had the Dee's microwave pots? I can't remember if it was a thai or morrocan dish but it was delicious, I liked her veggie burgers but these are amazing.

Weird - Dunnes in Blanch don't seem to be stocking linda McC stuff anymore - not vegeburgers or sausages anyway.
love the 'sausages' for veggie toad-in-the-hole.

    Hi dee,

it must have been Dunnes on Henry St. that I saw this offer, as Dunnes, on South Great Georges St. don't seem to stock the range and yes it was yesterday. I popped into St. Stephens Green and hour ago and the yellow sticker is up all right. Not only that but I got them scanned too - all showed as €1.25. L McC sausages, sausage rolls, lasagne and country pies.

(No sign of those famous mozzarella burgers, though...and I did look for them in Tesco Jervis too yesterday.)

I don't know what happened but better luck next time. What Dunnes had you gone to, by the way?

    ***edit***
Also, Banalun organic rice cakes (unsalted) and organic corn cakes are on special at €1 each in Dunnes.

Hello Dee, I've had to delete that. I'm afraid you are not allowed post like that on boards without contacting the staff first, representing your company. This is one of their email addresses: hello@boards.ie

"They changed 700 prices this morning and didn't bother to tell us" said a staff member to me when I was charged €4.50 for a Quorn roast instead of the advertised €3.00 - I got it at the advertised price.

Up to you, what you do with this information ;)

Spotted these the other day too, those strips are lovely and very similar to the dippers.

Quorn Garlic & Herb fillets €2 till 20th March (from €2.65).
Oddly enough the Broccoli & Cheese escalopes were advertised as €2 but not yellow stickered, ie. regular price. Nice if it's a long haul thing.

Maybe this offer only came in on Monday as I bought 2 packs in Tesco Ballybrack on Sunday and they were the normal price, still delicious though!

Yep, I bought 3 packs (1 already gone) and am thinking of buying more :0

Think I will have to pay a visit to Tesco tomorrow! Those burgers are seriously the nicest ones I've ever had! Tried the quorn chicken burgers for a change last time and was very disappointed. Going to stock up on these!

After seeing all the love directed towards those mozzarella burgers, I decided to add a few to the aul' online Tesco order. Here's hoping!

  • Registered Users Posts: 210 ✭✭amira

yep.. might have to get some myself..

btw.. has anybody tried the tesco's own brand 'vegetarian' mince, kinda tesco's quorn? i find it much nicer than the original quorn, and it's cheaper!! :)

I remember when tesco used to have 8 nice burgers for around 2e, those were the days. Dunnes had them too i think. Tesco also had their own hotdogs which were really nice.

    I like all the minces!

Do they not make them any more? I really enjoyed those! Reasonable price too.

The ones I am talking about haven't been there for years, they came in a box. They changed the recipe for the worse, changed the box of 8 to 4, or bags. Those are still there.

Yeah I remember those, didn't really notice that they'd changed the recipe though, thought just the quantity. Haven't eaten them in a while though.

Am I the only one that was really unimpressed with these? Had them about a year ago and they were so flavourless. Really disappointed.

No, I'd have to agree with you there. Didn't like them at all. I had one ages ago when they first stocked them, so I can't quite remember what it was I didn't like, only that I refused to eat the second one in the pack and whoever I cooked it for didn't eat it either!

I found them alright but since discovering the Linda McCartney mozzarella burgers I haven't had them.

Have you tried the Dee ready meals that she does? I think they're superb really tasty and with a nice kick to them way spicier than her "spicy" burgers. I had the Chilli one the other day - delish!

Just wanna say thanks for the heads up on the Linda McCartney mozzarella burgers in tesco..picked up two boxes today, would have stocked up more but my freezer is tiny! The offer is on until the 26th :)

Hah hah! I think I must have plied them onto someone else as well because I don't remember eating the second one, or if I did I must have blocked out that memory!

not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet as I'm a first time poster on this particular forum, but saw Tesco offering two items from their Veggieburger range for €3 when I was in their store in Rush tonight (Cheese & Leek "sausages" and Spicy Bean Burger) -- I'm sure the deal extends to their other stores?

    john

I was in tesco jervis centre today and this wasnt on offer :(

We did pick up some of those Dee's tub meals in dunnes to try while they're at the reduced price (1.99) though.

Also noticed the quorn roasts were only €3 in iceland, a lot of other quorn products have gone up in price recently though :(

And ye I did go into town to eat and then spent the rest of the time looking at food :P
