Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just spotted in the most recent Halloween fm email a note at the bottom saying Christmas fm is coming back early, so its looking like it won't be a Saturday launch after all...

Man that is some great news. I am only allowed (as a grown up) listen to Christmas music and decorate when Christmas fm launches so the earlier the better.

So judging from last year we should get word on the official start date on around the 10th of November.

I’m hoping that’s an automatic thing from last year as the 28th was the date last year so the 28th wouldn’t be earlier.

I heard a presenter mention the 28th earlier for the FM station, but they said something is happening this Thursday as well?

I gave up on this season when Dak got injured. we'll finish 2-14 & hopefully get a new head coach to replace bozo. If that happens it will have been worth it.

A number of Christmas FM presenters have had involvement with community radio stations. They include: Mark Manning, Gerry Healy, Declan Ralph, Lar Flynn, Sarah Jane Fortune and Karl Tsignidos. I am sure there are others.

Further to previous posts, I found some more connections.
    ………

What else do the following Christmas FM presenters all have in common: Keith Shanley, Kieran Carrick, Emmet Reilly, Brian Boyle and Shay Harford ?

Answer: they all present on English language Spanish station Real FM.
Scottish native Craig McComish and Christmas FM presenter is also a presenter on Real FM.
Since the Christian-oriented music station Spirit Radio (or Spirit FM) has launched, there have been a lot of connections with Christmas FM.

Garvan Rigby was the original Programme Director for Spirit Radio.

The following presenters of Christmas FM have also been presenters on Spirit Radio:
Kieran Carrick, Shay Harford, Bernie Jamieson, Mark Manning, Gerry Healy, Wendy Grace and Ollie Clarke. I'm sure there has been more.
And I was right! Adrian Nolan and Aisling Cuffe are also involved with Spirit Radio.

Jesus you have no idea how that post got me excited. I have an ironclad agreement that we can decorate the day Christmas fm launches.

Christmas FM 2020 as per bai.ie

    Dublin City & County - 105.2MHz
    Cork City & County - 106.7MHz
    Limerick City & County - 105.5MHz
    Kilkenny City - 104.3MHz
    Wicklow Town - 106.6MHz
    South East - 103.8MHz
    Galway City - 87.7MHz
    Kildare - 88.1MHz
    Bray/N Wicklow - 99.5MHz
    Longford/N Midlands - 101.6MHz
    Cavan/North East - 99.4MHz
    Tralee/Killarney/Mid Kerry - 105.0MHz
    Clare/W Limerick/N Kerry - 105.2MHz
    Waterford City/E Waterford - 105.9MHz
    North Donegal - 105.7MHz
    Sligo - 95.0MHz

I have edited the locations as the sites in question have different coverage to the areas specified on the BAI website. For example, the Donegal site is near Letterkenny and wouldn't be received well in the S/W of the county. On the opposite side of the coin, the Clare outlet is well received across West Limerick and North Kerry.

That's an impressive number of places. Taking into account adjacent areas to allotted frequencies as well, this means it will be almost nationwide on FM this year.

On the N21 at the viewpoint near Newcastlewest in Co. Limerick it can be received on 9 separate frequencies these days. An incredible feat of growth.

(Galway, Kildare, Limerick, Clare, Kerry, SE, Cork, Cavan, Longford frequencies for those wondering)

Hope they have decent signal in tipperary this year, last year had to use the phone app a majortiy of the time depending on where in the county i was

It’ll be the same as last year. 105.2/105.5 will be strong in NW Tipp nearer the Clare/Limerick borders. The 103.8 outlet would be useful in the east of the county for anyone who normally gets other radio stations from Mount Leinster (89.6/91.8/94.0/99.2/101.4/102.0/107.2).

If they were to add more outlets going forward a Clonmel/South Tipp outlet may be considered.

Yeah, anything above thurles seemed to be good but once you start moving down further there is little to no signal unless you catch the Kilkenny one or the Waterford one
