Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stopped by The Rage on the way home last night after seeing another one of their €2 sales on their Facebook page. Picked up Ready 2 Rumble boxing and Chu Chu Rocket for €2 each. Couldn't resist picking up House of the Dead 2 while I was there. Forgot how amazing the voice acting in that game is, ha.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

Chu chu rocket is great craic, especially
    In multiplayer.

Some more import 360 shmup fun arrived through the letterbox this morning.

    Thanks man!
A quick spot of Rockaroids, an Asteroids clone, was just what the Dr ordered, perfect!

Rockaroid does indeed rock! I also love that tour de france biking game which name escapes me, great fun!

Pfft! Tour De France! Real gamers play KELLOGGS TOUR 1988 ON THE C64!*

    * I owned this back in the day. I bought it after I found £1 on the floor while waiting for a bus home. I'd seen it in a bargain bin in Boots when I was playing F-Zero on a SNES demo station. I went back up and bought it. True story. :)

It's an excellent game as it happens (genuinely). I can't find any videos of it online ANYWHERE. Can anyone help? I'd love to see this game again, it's really brilliant.

You should record your own vid if no other exists! The game is up on gamebase64.

Got the retro style USB controllers , actually quite well built , considering they were bought from ebay china
    347118.jpg
Which in turn means the retro raspberry pi rebuild console number 2 is nearly finished :Megadrive1
    347119.jpg
Theres 6 usb ports, network port , HDMI ,3.5 mm audio via the original audio out and composite video.I need to hook up the original controller ports ,usb pads for the moment though.
Its working in HDMI but heres it over composite (no rgb yet , sorry )
    347120.jpg
Have a few more Pi's and a PI 2 as of yesterday so a few more projects to go:)

Looking good Bob. Have you any links to those controllers, they'd be ideal for my bartop

I got em off ebay as just nes usb sega usb controller etc...the sega ones are retrolink branded and feel really well made ..the nes and snes are almost as good.

Picked up Motorstorm Arctic Edge today for the PS2.
I never picked it up at launch as I couldn't in all good conscience spend full game money on a PS2 game in 2009, got it 6 years later for €4 in CEX.
In the interim I have played it on the PSP and it's surprisingly good, so looking forward to trying the home console translation.

    No, PSP and PS2 only.
Its got less tracks than the PS3 titles but it is one good looking game with broad tracks with many paths, very impressive indeed.
And a good purchase for a mere €4

Just ordered a fresh new LS32 with a white balltop. Going to turn the Aero CP into this (pretty much have everything I need apart from one white balltop!)

    Really looks super slick.

    Have gotten pretty lucky lately with charity shops/markets, latest haul includes;

    - Original Xbox complete in box w/ bunch of 4/5 'meh' games
    - Red DS Lite (Hinge gone)
    - Turquoise DS Lite (Mint Cond w/charger)
    - Harvest Moon - Leaf Valley x2 SEALED
    - Smash Bro Melee CIB
    - Mario Kart Double Dash Box w/ Mario Party disc inside

So obviously this means theres gonna be a dry spell of finding nothing for months now:P

    On another note,

    1) Never had an xbox, any game recommendations to get me going?
    2) Ditto with the DS.
    3) Replacement casing for the DS, anyone changed one? Linky to a decent seller with decent quality if so please???

The DS Lite casing is doable but be prepared to swear a lot!
Use a bit of tape to keep the shoulder buttons in place when reassembling.
    Trust me!

Xboxwise I'd go for Gotham Racing, Knights of the Old Republic, Republic Commando, Strangers Wrath, Amped, Steel Battalion, Rallisport Challenge and the Halo games.

Shenmue 2 and Jade Empire are also worth a shot on the original xbox.

I couldn't play Shenmue 2 on the Xbox. The voice acting is just too appalling. The original language track is sorely missed.

One of those finds you're glad you got up early for. All of this found at a car boot sale here in Cork (Blarney). The lot for a ridiculous €20.

I was literally there to see that transaction go down. Gutted I missed it by seconds but glad to see them go to a collector not a reseller.

Fragile Dreams for the Wii incoming, one of the handful of Wii games I'm lacking.
After this it's just Excitebots from the states and that's it I think.
No Escape from Bug Island though!

I haven't Fragile Dreams either, the soundtrack is amazing, that's how I found Aoi Teshima (who has some amazing English covers as well as her original Japanese stuff of course).
Escape from Bug Island is gonna be a classic someday, you should pick it up asap :P (those notes were hilarious!)

I got these from a lady on a french buy and sell type site. games were marked as "good condition" etc ... and I got a very good price for the lot (ie the price of just one of them on ebay). they arrived today and turns out they're also factory freakin sealed!
I'm not sure if I'm delighted or disappointed I can't open them :) (although I've Qbert and Nemesis3 loose already )
