Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

AMA Epilepsy would be very interesting for me as we mostly have no idea of signs and what to do if you see the average Joe Soap having a Seizure

Maybe get someone from Epilepsy Ireland onboard

I'd like to see some ama's with foreign nationals living in Ireland and how they find it. Could try find an American,African,Asian,European, Etc. Then maybe a few with Irish people living in other countries.

Hi Dav\Niamh, are there anymore lined up?

  • Registered Users Posts: 557 ✭✭✭IrishAlice

As this week is carer's week maybe you get an AMA up and running with someone who is a carer?

Would be interesting to see what their lives are like on a day to day basis.

Hope there's something set up soon, forum was starting to gain some momentum, the last 2 were 2 of the most poplar in terms of posts so far.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

You might as well ask for a politician because you get same if not more politics, backstabbing and drama going on (and yes I do work for a rescue) :P.

Probably asked and answered before, but say if someone wants to do an AMA on something, but wants to keep their identities hidden - would you allow them to create throwaway accounts in order to do the AMA.

I just think it would open up a lot of interesting discussions.

Of course, that's exactly the situation when we have someone with for example "I'm a merchant navy officer, AMA"

They won't be using the account again anywhere else on the site, just for the duration of the AMA.

A great idea in theory, but a train wreck in practice would be my prediction unfortunately.

After what happened with the traveller I dont think this would work. And it would probably be much worse.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Whats the procedure once you fill in a form? I did this a week or so ago and haven't heard anything more. Is that normal or should I resend?

I don't know how good I'd be at answering questions but I could put my name in for this if people were interested? I also just had awake brain surgery as part of my treatment to hopefully get rid of the thing which people might be interested in.

I'd heard of it being done before, but for some reason I never asked what the procedure was called... the term actually seems a bit obvious :o

I'd be very interested in that AMA anyway :)

Well the official medical term on all my forms was awake craniotomy though I don't think that changes the important part!

Winners have been posted here now.

The link to pm here now to claim your prize only brings me to my pm inbox. I can't pm BOI:Nicola as she can't receive pms when I try so who do I pm?

It should open a link to a new PM to the Bank of Ireland Reps account: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/private.php?do=newpm&u=501903

Their profile page is here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/member.php?u=501903 if you want to click on 'Send a private message' from there.

If that doesn't work for any reason (though it really should), you can PM me and I'll pass it along.

First link brought me back into my pm inbox: might be a touch site glitch? Second link worked though :) thanks

Is there a reason why this stopped or is nobody submitting AMA requests? I was enjoying reading some of it tbh

I put one on ages ago. No interest in the topic perhaps but I've heard nothing since.

Deadline? The update is I will have a look at the applications asap. It's still on my to do list - unfortunately the lsit is getting longer, not shorter! I'll do my best to get one up shortly though, I enjoy the AMAs myself :)

yeah deadline, you clearly stated you'd line someone up for next week and subsequently haven't, so missed your own deadline.

How about someone involved with the current site "re-design", there's clearly A LOT of interest in it in the feedback forum. Would be interesting to actually get some answers and clarity on the whole thing.

Feedback not AMA is the place for queries about the new site design.

Will get someone up here next week all going well.
