Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You have to remember too, she was a "very good librarian". Joe has de horn for doze, so to speak.

Actually I recall being absolutely outraged at that eulogy, why I didn't complain to RTÉ and BAI I don't know, must have been otherwise distracted at the time. How he got away with it I cannot understand, other than people's apathy. It was a massive insult to Tom Nevin's family.

    Jealous much?
    :pac:;)

Ireland and UK are so similar coz both have places called Camden. This is what 400k insight looks like people. You pay for this.

    Hilary clip from yesterday.

Undertakers charging 5.5k per event, they will be millionaires soon so Joe's interest is piqued.

Inheritance tax. Effecting millionaires so Joe's interest is piqued.

Christmas lights complained. I would bet good money that the caller is Tommy Roddy from Galway.

Having the soundbyte "ups" from the female caller yesterday in reference to UPS would be gold for a Liveline soundboard.

Edit: actually no it's only if you have an inner ci-ee accent. People will still be able to discriminate and mock accents like Danny Healy Raes.

Done O'Sullivan is a news reporter with CNN from Cahersivine in Co. Kerry. Surprisingly he speaks clearly with good diction and clarity. If he sounded like jackie Healy Rae he wouldn't have got the job.

I can't get a job as a doctor. Its discrimination! The reason I can't get a job as a doctor is solely based on one small thing in that I'm not a qualified doctor. Who do I complain to?

I can't quite decide which is worse, people having these ridiculous notions or those notions actually being entertained.

Yes it's a cosy little cartel, no published prices to compare operators and they get you at a stage where your not in a fit mind to haggle or question costs. You are pretty much steered toward the middle of the road product offering.

If it does make it to the programme I full expect Joseph to ask some robust questions regarding you're very correct understanding of the undertaking industries pricing strategy :D

They are a bit like the Ghostbusters. Theres that scene from the first movie where Bill Murray is naming out their prices after catching a ghost in the hotel, and the guy says "I had no idea it'd be so much, I won't pay", and Bill goes, "Thats fine, we can just put him back where he was and the guy goes "Ok, I will pay".

When the undertaker says they have deal on today and the mahogany coffin with brass handles is only five thousand, you feel guilty for thinking "have they nothing in plywood, with aluminium handles that might be cheaper?"

Coffin tastes should always be discussed ahead of time. My mother went coffin shopping years ahead of her and my father's deaths, causing much amusement at the undertakers.

No. The main question to the undertaker will be "what was your best funeral?".
