Cancelling my direct debit now also, I was never happy with that anyway as I only have pc connected to the TV for Netflix ie never ever watch rte but this is the final straw. Everyone should do the same now, might make them actually reform the whole mess.

Let them, if everyone stops paying they will have a lot of prosecutions to get through, pay when you get worried about prosecution. But make that point.

Jaysus Brendan O’Connor is paid €245,004 a year for his Saturday and Sunday morning radio show from 11am to 1pm.

So for 4 hours of air time minus ad breaks news and weather breaks he gets roughly €4710 a week.

Give or take a few euro that's €1180 an hour of air time.

It's absolutely insane money to be paying anyone for presenting a TV show or talking on the radio. They don't offer anything unique that anyone off the street couldn't do with a bit of practice. I have a feeling we are only in the departure lounge yet as to where this journey of RTE being absolutely rotten to the core goes.

Prendeville on redfm in cork was on 150k when he left 96fm in 2014. I'd imagine he got a good bump jumping to their rival, so 200k could be a good estimate.

He's pulling in 80k listeners a day county wide, tubs is getting about 300k nationally
