Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Snowing here in County Armagh since four o'clock, still coming down thick.
Garden covered, not really lying on the roads yet, just back from shopping. More expected tonight apparently.

Still nothing here, raintoday's had light yellow over us for hours but its been dry all evening, met eireann seems to be more accurate for a change.

Its slowly pushing further north so hopefully we'll get something soon enough, its been stalled on the Donegal border all day!

Snowing again here for the last hour after an interlude of rain/sleet, its sticking now on roof and grass . I could see the snow line move lower down the mountain before dark as temps dropped (my theory!).

Do you mean Tipp town? None tonight I'd say, tomorrow afternoon or evening would be the best shot, but even then it's quite unlikely away from high ground.

After lots of rain today and a bit of sleet earlier we now have wet snow falling in Belfast. It doesn't look like it will lie though.

Keep the snow reports coming, even though I'm going green with envy!
Even just seeing a wintry shower or 2 would be nice, no chance in Cork though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,039 ✭✭✭redsteveireland

Wasn't expecting anything until tomorrow, looked out now and the car is covered in snow and there is a small bit lying on the grass. It seems to have turned back to a snow rain mix now though. :D
Just checked MTs update so I think I'll stick my sig after this post...

Getting heavier here but its still very wet so no chance of it sticking. Turning more and more to proper snow though, temperature slowly dropping

Amazing how sudden the temperature change is across the country, theres a line between Dublin and Limerick with a sudden 5 or 6 degree change

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,039 ✭✭✭redsteveireland

Heavy burst again here. All cars and grass white, not quite sticking to the road and paths. It strange because its alot heavier then the radar is suggesting.

Slights upgrade for us easties on 18z, uppers on 12z for today (Sat) were at minimum of around -1, now the 18z has the colder air apreading further across, with borderline -5 uppers..

If your temperture keeps getting lower the snow will stick Harps.
Temp here is now 1.3c ,the precipation is taking more of a flaky form now. So still wet snow but heading towards the real stuff.

Yeah the temperature is still steadily dropping, currently 1.5C with a dewpoint of 0.1C, dropping 0.1C every 5-10 minutes. The flakes are getting big enough to stick for a while before melting but its too light to accumulate and I cant see it dropping below freezing tonight. Nice to see snow falling all the same!

Couldn't agree more. I see the snow as some light entertainment before the main events of the summer.

Not sure if its particularly relevant to the title of this thread but I've just woken up unusually early for a Saturday morning to find its absolutely pelting down the white stuff here (in Glasgow, not Castlebar)...and the forecast is constant snow all day into this evening! :D:D

So pleased I went shopping last night now!

I think I need some salt and pepper so I can eat my hat.
Back to mostly wet snow here which is melting away the earlier snow. Looks like a bit of a clearing over Galway on the radar, for now anyway.
