Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

He's probably in the middle of changing something. Players are obligated through sponsorship to play certain events.

Wolff has withdrawn, not for the first time lately, I thought I read somewhere that he had some sort of hand injury, I'd say that's more likely than swing changes etc, you wouldn't keep withdrawing unless there was something wrong physically surely.

If he just WD cause he had a **** round that’s pretty pathetic IMO. He’ll still get the $40k for last place so just play the other 3 rounds.

Speaking of Wolff, I see he got no penalty for accidentally hitting his ball in his practice stroke on the green yesterday. I didn't realise the rule had changed, apparently the change was made quite recently.

In saying that, he went ahead and three putted anyway :pac:

    It’s Tony Finau’s time surely.

Why has Reed made it so hard to support him!! His short game is insane. Topped his 2nd shot on a par five into a fairway bunker and then proceeds to get up and down from 140 odd yards.

His mouth and his reported propensity to cheat make it hard for me to like him, but he is a hell of a golfer.

Yes, he has a great game, but he’s a king size pain in the ass.

Ya he's a top notch player and is interesting to watch, it's such a shame that he's a massive tool

That 40k takes him above Jack nicklaus in career earnings!

Not entirely, but saw it posted by a couple of the popular podcasts on Twitter. We shall see...or we might never know!

Triggered me to look up the list, some surprises there.
McDowell at $18m, never thought he'd have won that much, same with Ricky Fowler at $39m, Spieth at $40m, Kuchar at $52m!!!

One that always amazes me is that Brian Davis, the English fella, has over 13 million. I think he holds the record for highest earnings without a win.

Love this tweet from the nolayingup crew; Reed winning at a place named after “one of the great acts of sportsmanship in history” would be way too good.

    So true!!

Also please let cam smith and Reed be in final group. That would be tasty

This 13th hole is hilarious. God help how amateur golfers get around this course. And apparently the greens are faster for members!!! Madness but creates great visuals

They're missing a trick not getting a flexible/stiff shaft pun in there somewhere

Koepka did really well to hang in there yesterday. He was really struggling for a lot of the round but managed to grind out pars. He finished well then.
Morikawa had some run with 7 birdies in eight holes before the wheels came off a bit.
In Puerto Rico I'd love to see Brandon Wu win. He's a massively talented golfer and decided to stay in college to play the Walker Cup rather than go pro and accept sponsors invites in late 2019.
A man out if Stanford with a surname beginning with W has a lot to live up to in golf having Tiger and Tom Watson as alumni.

I actually haven’t seen much of the golf this week but by scrolling through the players at the bottom of the leaderboard and seeing all the big numbers and how they got them makes me want more tournaments to be on this course in the future.

Just shows you really don’t need really high rough for a course to play difficult.

Looking like another cracking week of the pga tour the last few week have been great viewing!

You would think the game was on its knees when you here the debates about distance ect

Isn't Hovland a very likeable character. A good few of the more established good players could look at him and see, That you don't have to be cranky on the course.

    Fair play to him.

Was Billy Horschel standing in a bunker with a wood in his hand? Whatever it was he changed his mind in the end.

Yes. Plenty of even amateurs can do that.

    Hybrid works too.

It seems to me that hitting a ball into some of these fairway bunkers isn’t the disadvantage it “should” be. Players are often still comfortably able to make par, if not birdie.

Horschel has the shoes off. At last a bit of action.

Watching Hatton in full meltdown mode is glorious television. It’s actually must watch TV.

Nice come back from Rory after an awful way he played his 9th

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Looking forward to this Rory and Hovland group tonight. Have a feeling it will be a partnership come September time at whistling straits

    Hole in One from Spieth

  • Registered Users Posts: 136 ✭✭omeara1113

    He's back lol

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 542 ✭✭✭Bill Ponderosa

Feck it missed Spieths hole in one! Baboon had to be washed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Follows up with the next tee shot into the water but holes a 35 footer for the par!!

Lad is just ridiculous. He is going to be some danger at Augusta

And now from Justin ray; 8-shot swing in 3 holes between the two men in the Spieth/Rose group.

Rose carded a 9 on the 3rd hole, Spieth has a score of 8 through 3 holes.

That makes it T2 and T52 now :D

    Oh and Bryson!!!

Speith is just unreal to watch.

Anyone know the story with the crowd? Surely they’re meant to be wearing masks, given that they’re all piled in on top of each other? It is Florida, mind...

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,989 ✭✭✭Potential Underachiever

Fantastic couple of hours of Golf, just amazing stuff from Spieth and I also loved the fanfare and reaction from Bryson after that drive, great scenes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,498 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

    Spieth drains another 40 footer!
