Ah yes the Mujahadeen, great bunch of lads. The photo of Brzezinski

The photo was well and truly debunked, keep quoting fake **** .

Didn't that great bunch of lads take on and defeat the Russians who well and truly retreated with tails firmly between their legs,

Are you popping in here to defend Saudi Arabia?
    Defend them against what?
It's not tolerated as far as I'm aware there is no other religious places of worship any where in Saudi
    Sure they are!
I'm fairly sure there are that the shia population are treated like ****e however.

My apologies gatling, you are right about the photo. It was an officer of the Pakistani army inspecting arms enroute to the Mujahadeen with Brezinzinski. I can admit my mistakes, unlike you. Operation Cyclone, the destruction of what was a secular Muslim country at the time to be replaced with a bunch of headchoppers, how many times has the US done that now Gatling?

the destruction of what was a secular Muslim country

By russia they bombed the country back to the stone age they purposely massacred villages and operating a scorched earth policy , bringing communism to the forward looking Western style country of Afghanistan.

And here you are let's blame America

Just curious, when it suits your narrative, do you make any comparison between a forward looking Iran which was backed by the West, but which was subject to massive corruption, cronyism and political suppression, all of which resulted because of Western manipulation of Iran most famously expressed in Operation Ajax and the resultant Iranian revolution which rejected Western intervention and now has Iran seriously paranoid of any Western attempt to corral it, and the Mujahideen which were backed to the hilt by the West and which ultimately resulted in a conservative, Muslim fundamentalist Afghanistan which destroyed centuries old works of art, suppressed women, massacred anyone who stood in their way and eventually supported Al-Qaeda to destroy the Twin Towers and take over 1,500 lives on 9/11?

....while warning that there should be a negotiated agreement rather than a unilateral withdrawal, given the militant nature of some of the resistance groups. A hawk in the reagan administration at the time (Richard Perle, I think) said to them "Let freedom take care of itself". Not long after freedom had taken care of itself with the Taleban outfighting the other factions and taking control of the state.

Neocon furniture, alas. Featured quite prominently in the Bush Jr regime, but evidently that doesn't discredit him in the eyes of the current fuckwit incumbent of the oval office. He is, quite literally, a war monger.

Bolton is a danger. I cannot help but feel that that Commander Fred in The Handmaid's Tale graphic novel is based on Bolton. The Handmaid's Tale is the ONLY place Bolton should be: sadly, Margaret Atwood didn't make him up and he is real!!

Bolton should have accidentally driven his car off a road and died a long time ago ,
He is more dangerous than trump and likely has more sway than Donald behind the scenes and knows the game a lot better too ,

Iran shooting down the drown has brought us into a very tight game of high stakes poker ( ship attacks and downing a drone ) in international waters has brought them to the brink either they go all in and try to bluff America in the hope they will be powerless to stop Iran or Bolton and go all in and decide Iran is going to be hammered .

Iran has the ability to cause big problems in Iraq for the states multiple heavily armed militias only loyal to Iran who would happily be involved in a new insurgency iraq not for the first time either with the support of several hardliners inside the Iraq government,
It's very highly likely Israel will hit Iran in support of America ,can Iran fight on multiple fronts and maintain the upper hand I personally do see them winning out .

Are you talking about the same Taliban that the US are having peace talks with so they can leave Afghanistan without losing face?

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-afghanistan-talks/u-s-taliban-aim-to-firm-up-date-for-foreign-force-exit-from-afghanistan-idUSKCN1TP186

Khalilzad, an Afghan-born American diplomat has been leading the talks to secure a political settlement with the hardline Islamist group that now controls more Afghan territory than at any time since being toppled in 2001 by U.S.-led forces.

jeremy Hunt has said Britain would consider joining the US in military action against Iran.

Tensions between the US and Iran have increased in recent weeks after the downing of an American drone and claims by Washington that Tehran was behind attacks on oil tankers in the Persian Gulf.

The Foreign Secretary’s comments came as his department minister Andrew Murrison held talks with the Tehran government at the weekend where he said he was “clear” about the UK’s concerns over Iran’s activities.

It not a surprise to most people, just another sign the UK imperalist ways will never change. They love destroying countries, in the middle east. They done a great job in Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Yemen they are now signing up for another war against Iran and its allies.

Already are, the weekend tabloids report they have their special boat people hanging out with the Seals doing mini-sub scuba in the warm sunny waters.

Meanwhile any guesses for the gold spot price?
    $1,750 <3mths me thinks. Hits a 6yr high today 1,407 (+8.8% 30days).

Crude/Brent is still low overall, but that may oversupply already, and subject to change.

Jeremy Hunt would NOT be a good UK PM that is for certain. 'The Republic of Gilead' and its imperialism will always be able to justify its acts when it gets British politicians like him to back them up in a bid to try and revive their own imperialism too. Likely true, low key training operations happen all the time. Still Uk would have to boost numbers of soldiers in the region to fight. More warships and planes will need to be send to bases and the persian gulf.

Madness there even considering a war against Iran. Let the US fights it own battles. Trump dummy decdision to pull of an agreed Iran nuclear deal caused this, but UK are dummies too they think we always have to fight the brown people in the middle east when they fight back and don't bow down to us.

Some Iranians think that Britain 100% control Iran, were behind the 1979 revolution and go as far to say it is a colony of the UK. Some even say former Shah Ayatollah Khomeini was half British and his father or mother was called Williamson.

Its real life not a TV series. I would stop talking about the Republic of Gilead and just start focusing on reality.

Reality on Earth- its naive to believe all the world leaders are good people and their intentions are always benign. Human beings are different and not everyone sees the world in same way as you do. Wars are a result of us being different.

John Bolton is blamed for everything, yet his only a cog in the wheel.

Iran has commented on the American cyber attack saying "they tried hard, but failed".

And that's the real reason Trump cancelled the attack...he knew the cyber attack had failed and that Iran's defences would be fully operational.

He didn't give a toss about dead Iranians, it was the prospect of a lot of dead Americans that made him think twice.

Iran is a powerhouse militarily in the region. They have groups in Afghanistan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen. All will be let loose when the war begins. It will resemble a mini WW3 in someways without the nuclear weapons.

I believe your actually overstating their capacity to wage wars on multiple fronts , insurgency is all well till you actually have to defend your own borders from multiple military interventions .

They have been sending aircraft carriers and destroyers to the region for months, just most of the world not paying attention. It was the reeason Trump was able to give the go ahead to strike on short notice and then pulled back last minute. There about 70,000 US troops in the Middle East already, just not enough for a ground invasion.

Sure its only me. If Trump did not change his mind on Thursday we be seeing a war right now. Everyone in Trump inner circle wanted strikes against Iran, you just don't get it. Trump can't pull back from this again and again. War is coming.

I just hope there's no war there in Iran, the people have enough hardship, whether they're under dictatorship or not.
    They don't need a war.

Iran has great potential for tourism, fishing, hiking, shopping, and sharing their cultural heritage.

A lot of nations have nuclear weapons and don't use them, they talk a lot about wiping Israel off the map, but I think if they wanted to they'd have peppered it at this point.

There was a time when Israel and Iran had a great relationship.

They never said they wanted to wipe Israel off the map. They said they wanted to rid the world of the racist ideology called Zionism.
Before Zionism, Iran did get on with Israel. So did the Palestinians before Zionists sent the bulldozers in.

It's evident now war is about to begin. Iran would have do a massive u turn and agree to a new deal to stop it. Trump was able to call of strike this time, but his boxed in now, i don't think he be able to next time.

Apparently the White House is in lockdown right now, a suspicious package found. This is what you expect to see with tensions raising. It maybe be false alarm we see.
