Do 1st,2nd and 3rd year grades go towards your final grade?

As the title says. I've mates that tell me that they don't matter and that there's no difference between just passing and doing really well. I've been told that I'm unreasonable with how much hours I've put in and I do think that my stress may be impacting my health.
