Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yep, in administration and probably won't survive, but as it's in administration you are effectively buying from a very reputable accountancy company :)

So great value if you like your books.

Just picked up the Roald Dahl collection for 20 quid plus a fiver for shipping.
Back to my childhood I go

The code works on virtually every book as they are almost all "hand picked favorites"

Also (unusual for a UK company) the stg/eur rate they use is 1.125 whereas the current bank mid market rate 1.151

I'm sorted for God child gifts for a few months :D

Klingon Bird of Prey - Haynes Owners Workshop Manual for €1.13 is surely worth a shot.

I’ve had orders from them sent separately before so wouldn’t chance PM or PW. Paid €20 postage but got >100 books so even with the postage it’s a bargain

I'd echo that, can't remember if definitely this company or not, but got badly stung before ordering books to PW, ended up paying seven separate PW fees on one order

Thanks OP! Have pooled an order with my Mum to get the 35% and only pay one postage charge. About 60 books/household items for €52 including delivery

When you see that their stg/eur exchange rate is about 5% better than your credit card and even with a delivery fee v free delivery to parcel motel, there is little or no difference buying in euro and getting it delivered to your door rather than parcel motel

  • Registered Users Posts: 152 ✭✭Motherof123

    I got 31 books.
    2 art sets.
5 x (22 pencil sets) handy for gifts / party bags
    2 cbeebies number block sets.
Missed out on a lot of other great bargain puzzles and games as they sold out fast but happy with what I got!
All for €30 using the AFSUPER35 then €9.99 deliver so for all the books it's a bargain have 3 kids so covered them all in that order! €40 for the lot.

The Book People have a clearance sale on.
Also use code “ AFSUPER35 “ for extra 35% off over €40 spend I think.

Note:- They went into administration back in December but says all orders will be fulfilled.

€9 ROI delivery, could cheaper with Revolut and parcel motel/address pal but would be worried about the weight if ordering sets

David Walliams book set out if stock but the audio book cds set is still available

    Thank you!

Forgot they were on their last legs, always so handy at that winter festive period (that might be too early to talk about in March), when my kids were young. Some great deals to be had.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Delighted with this bargain - ordered a pile of books for teenagers, none of them more than 2.25 Euro. Postage to Ireland only 7 Euro which seems very low considering the weight of my order. Used the save15 code for a couple of Euro off.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,301 ✭✭✭John Hutton

Ordered 13 books, most hefty hard backs, for a total of 36 including Irish delivery. Delivery seems very cheap!!!

No but that's typical of them I ordered stuff in February and it didn't ship for a whole week so expect a little longer over the volume of orders during the sale. But once it does ship they will send tracking info and they do keep it up to date so you can see exactly where is it and how long more it will take and on the day of delivery you will be notified that it's on board for delivery.

I'm sure it said 3-4 weeks when I placed my order, not expecting it any time soon anyway.

I was just going to say that - it said delivery would be up to four weeks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,817 ✭✭✭Darc19

I've two orders 3 days apart

    One is 25243XXX
    The other is 25271XXX

So suggests over 27,000 orders if it's a straight numerical system that they use.

With 365,000 reviews, that is quite plausible, so 3-4 weeks delivery is probably what you will get.

Yeah it said may take up to a 4 week wait but it might come just in time for the April mid term I got a lot of books for my kids!

Nothing. I emailed them last night but no reply yet. I imagine everything will be slowed right down now.

Yeah I was thinking they would be delayed more now! But the post seems to be ok within ireland. Usually they send a dispatch email a week later they arrive

My delivery is coming in 3 parts, got the first one last Friday via parcel Mortel, second is coming today and third TBC. Even with the PM costs it's still a bargain.

I ordered 3 march as well, just logged in there and the status is pending, however it also says "Delivered to" followed by my office address. But the office is closed up for the time being with everyone working from home. I asked them to change to my home address but if it's already been delivered who knows where it is or when I'll actually get it.
