Except that's not how a penalty try works at all.

They have illegally moved part of the try line preventing Munsters ability to score against it. It is a case for a penalty try.

That dive on Wooton was bad

It would be like giving a penalty try for offside. It makes it harder to score a try but in no way does it suggest a try was probable which is the criteria required for a penalty try.

Should have been a yellow card for Edinburgh killing that attack.

30 minutes or nerves and sh*te kicking and then 10 minutes of some nice rugby.

Harder??? It makes it impossible to score against the post. It was done deliberately to prevent them scoring. It was also endangering players.

It's dangerous. They still have 40-50m of line to dot down on. It does not mean a try was probable in any way.

JOD is a very good communicater with the ref

TOD seems to be helping him out too.

Good score considering a disaster of an opening.

Seem to struggle with them kicking to our back three.

Healys first two involvements were to pick the ball up from his feet behind his goal line and to throw a pass out of touch

Sloppy penalty given away by Liam O'Connor and a few lineouts have gone astray.

Much improved 2nd quarter to the game though

I suspect that whoever lifted the protector may have a trip to London in his immediate future.

They did it twice. Should have been at least yellow and ref would be in his right to award penalty try. Penalty try can be given for persistent infringement.

    No it can't.

There must be a clear try scoring opportunity that's spoiled by an illegal act

Shane Daly looks like a special player.

They were on Edinburgh’s line and they eventually scored.

I'd be surprised if Munster's tackle % is in the 80s.

That’s not held up, should that not be a penalty now for holding on?

Both props did it. Schoeman ignored the cal to put it down. He’s a walking penalty machine, the guy who bumped Beirne for the penalty in the QF. Always at it.

Bad miss from Fineen - big shift from JOD to cover .

And an unreal defensive shift to exit.

    Agreed.

Still not enough for a pen try to be awarded

Botha in full flight is a thing of beauty....went full beast mode down the left hand wing

    O’Shea has been very poor.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Wooton has also been poor too.

Haven't seen a good escort line all game - no wonder were making so many errors with the pressure coming from the Edinburgh kick game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

Poor from all back 3 players.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,781 ✭✭✭PetKing

McCarthy has been poor for me tonight. Last 10 mins has been woeful for all of them in fairness.

You can get a red card in hurling for pulling someone’s helmet off or opening the strap. Interfering with safety equipment should be severely punished, these players will deservedly be cited for this
