Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

€3.99 for Quality St in Tesco today

and claims to be until 24th dec, they have often cancelled or changed offers in the past though.

    Quality Street Tub 650G
    Special OfferSAVE 2.51 Was 6.50 Now 3.99
    valid from 12/9/2019 until 24/12/2019

and is just QS as the moment.

Says 6.10 per kilo, but that includes wrappers, its 6.36 per kilo of chocolates.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,382 ✭✭✭✭rubadub

All 4 are down to 3.99 in tesco now. Mine said a limit of 4 per customer, plenty in stock.

None of them have offer signs, i.e. they are not yellow labelled with start/end dates. As I said in the last post they change these at anytime so not to be trusted.

they are priced per kilo, and a decent price relative to other bars. This nonsense comes up every year, as though years ago you could these gigantic tins for the equivalent of 4euro. The giganatic tins were more of a novelty, very few in the shops and few bought as they costed a fortune, far dearer per kilo than bars were back then. There are loads of different size tins/tubs/boxes, always has been available, smaller ones readily available all year round.

Some might think they taste absolutely horrific nowadays, but so do bars, they are using the same cheapened chocolate.

    1.2kg tins are still available

8euro for a tin of QS

    https://shop.supervalu.ie/shopping/food-cupboard-seasonal-quality-street-tin-1-2-kilogram-/p-1558316000

The smaller tub is cheaper per kilo in tesco

‘This nonsense comes up every year’..Not having a good Sunday are ya ? I bought 1.2 kg for 4 eur last year on offer and that was my point !! They pretend it's on offer whereas its same price as a 1.2 kg now !!

I bought 1.2 kg for 4 eur last year on offer and that was my point !!
where was this? was it in september? plenty of stock?

I don't get this "pretending to be on offer", if you know of cheap nestle/cadbury/mars chocolate at available in a major shops in this country at the moment please share.

Super value I th,ink as per your post above ??
I was saying tesco is still cheaper per kilo in the small tubs. And I would prefer smaller tubs too as I end up eating them too fast as is!

I got celebrations it is 664g incl wrappers 650g of chocolates.

    6.14 per kilo.

Just looking at a few others, the cheapest other mars product seems to be snickers. Which seems cheap enough but is still 8.90 per kilo, as bars have been shrinking in size.

    Snickers Chocolate Multipack 4 X41.7G
    €1.49(€0.89/100g)

The beauty of a 5 year thread that has many followers is that fake news is easily checked

Last years best offer for 1.2kg tin was €8 - and it was supervalu

    "Quality Street Tin (1.2 Kilogram)
    €8.00 €6.67 per kg"

Cracked open a tin of Roses and Quality Street the other day. Quality Street used to always be the poor mans Roses in this house, but Roses have had a shocking drop in quality the last few years. To the point where I'd now prefer Quality Street. Would've been unthinkable back in the day.
