Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

If our superhero boards WW mod could append this to end of WW2 thread, http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057643449 , that would be super useful for others who may follow. TY.

That's the seer room for complete ness
Post 95 is where they explain that I might have cheated and that's why I was asked in from of the other player if I did and to explain my game play
LookIng back at the fact I'd been sitting with my father at his deathbed and the game was helping me not think about the abyss that awaits us all I'm acually surprised I took it so well.

The seer room and the fake dead room are already revealed on the thread, but yes, better to have complete list of links available.

Trits voting strategies for the power play, and the contrasting reactions to it in the dead room and the wolf room had me in stitches.
(although, as i write this trit has not entered dead room yet, so more hilarity is coming, i'm sure!)

Trit is a great player I saw it then and it's really evident now
Quick is great a real grinder and also puts a lot of effort in she's not as imaginative as Trit but she misses nothing and that's important
Mick; well mick is mick and he could probably easily be the best player here if he wanted to put the effort in
So I'm very proud of the team I had picked
Also since none of them were wolves I'd point out I didn't pick 3/3 I picked 6/6
Three excellent players as team mates and three wolves

You make it sound like you were on the winning side. A great effort, no doubt, but still didn't produce a win for your team. :(
This time around, anyhow. many more of these still to read.

I know this is against the grain of recent posts but my heart is broken.

I have a 13 year old cousin. He's dyslexic, dyspraxic and socially challenged. I adore him. I was an only grandchild until he was born and he changed my life (for the better) when he was born. He has spent pretty much every weekend since he was born in my house. He's a pretty cool dude.

Tonight his dog snapped at him. It wasn't intentional. He poked her in the eye and she bared her teeth. He got a fright and started to cry and didn't stop for an hour. He cried over being bullied in school, about failing in school, about hating his life... I will try sort it tomorrow (I'll speak to his parents), but the heartbreaking moment was when someone asked if he was okay (tear stained face) he said it was his hay fever... :(

Are he and the dog back to being friends again? Was he protecting the dog by blaming tears on hayfever in case somebody blames the dog?

Is there any random generator out there for werewolf, were all the actions are taken randomly by a computer. And you could run it 1000s of times. And the resultant figures would should if it was balanced after.

    What's fair? Village 46 WOLF'S 46% sk 8%.?

Sk are always at a disadvantage to win comparatively but it's just accepted as it's a fun role to play.

One games result really isn't indicative of balance imo. And unless your playing fairly straight forward vannila games it's hard to tell if a game is balanced properly with the more complex games. Imo

Was off topic for sullivlo's feedback on anon games. but wft and i'm bored. I'm going to do what is sugested above. I'll simulate a fully randed game of marvel v dc and run it 1000 or 1 million times.

btw, random goes out the windows as soon as people start talking. thats why tiggers wwii odds were not the,
5 in 21 x 4 in 19 x 3 in 17; 29 in 2261 ~ 1 in 78 chance of happening, everybody knew 1st was gonna be peeked (meta reasons), 2nd wolf was pointed out (false sympathy), why not peek him, and third was only a ~ 1/5 gamble. far away from the 1 in over 900 odds reported during game.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,404 ✭✭✭✭sKeith

hmm, its not so easy, in a fully rand sim, the seer / priest are pointless. i can build up that players knowledge, but how does that info get to somebody who can use it. in a fully rand game, it won't. due to wishing to get the info out to somebody who could use that info, people and talking become involved, removing the randomness from the games as people are voluntering info in the game pool so be used by others.

Only twice has a game been re-run, to the best of my knowledge. The two live games were pretty much identical, and resulted in a win each for the village and the wolves.

The original Star Wars game was won by the wolves, and Digi re-ran it as a FB game, fairly unchanged as far as I know. I didn't play or watch it though so not sure of the result in the re-run.

There are so many variables though it is hard to predict how a game would go at any given week.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,404 ✭✭✭✭sKeith

dv v marvel mods, MFD & gummpy, can you clarify a rule for the hero in that game. would heros powers have been fully recharged if they had not saved on two nights in a row? or was 2nd hit, on different night, always going to kill hero and attacker, even if they didnt happen on sucessive nights?

EDIT: hmm, the more i read it, the more i now lean towards the latter.

Village won the FB version. Was fairly tight though went down to one final lynch they had to get right to win if I remember correctly.

okay, that was quick. I've already given up with that sim program.

Mick, i'd like to point you to a game that you might enjoy. http://www.mafiauniverse.com/forums/threads/8186-Season-4-Game-1-Snails-The-Mafia-Championship
Its game 1 of the championship that tigger had game 11 of.
In the opening few posts of that game, a player said that the best chance they have for winning is if everybody votes randomly.
    Enginish wrote:
I'd like y'all to consider this paper: http://projecteuclid.org/download/pdfview_1/euclid.aoap/1211819786
It asserts that in a game without detectives, the town should vote randomly every day for the best odds of success.
    Our pal Formal shorts retorts
I can promise you, and everyone else, that no vote I make this game will be random. What is the point of us even playing if that's the case?

anyhow, I feel my time would be beeter spent reading GoTs wwiii :D
The people element in 'dv v marvel', or 'ww' in general, has variables that I cannot program for, do i give the seer a 1/10 chance of their info post being picked up by a baddie, do i have them wait until later game to attempt to reveal? these are all human decisions that make each game suspensful, and judgement and wits cannot be programmed via a random number generator.
