Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Toxic mother's are quite comman in Ireland. If you grew up with some mother's with mental illness and alcohol, prescription drug problems it's truly extradinaory how manipulative they can be and being a martyr is a given to their selfish nature, cold, cynical nature.

They havn't enough to be worried about - should start an exchange program

i'd imagine some of these women might be glad of a bit of peace and quiet :

My mum is the exact opposite of that, and she's been there through serious thick and thin with me, I am totally and utterly blessed with her.

I have a friend whose mum is scary though with her weird victim mentality. For years through my friends teen years her mum's favourite lament was " when I'm on my deathbed how sorry you'll be for not taking out the bin/not taking your plate to the sink" etc through creepy gritted teeth. She took a weird level of delight in it, you could actually see her picturing the scene and reveling in the idea of them gathered around heartbroken.

How many Irish mammies does it take to change a lightbulb?

'Ah, don't mind me. I'm OK here sitting in the dark'.
