Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Everything about that set up looks wrong (maybe it's perfect for the owner) the saddle position looks off, braking using the levers in that position looks like it could be awkward to say the least...

It looks like he's taken the pics with a fish eye lens or something not a completely terrible asking price though to be fair.

The price is likely based on the Mavik cosmic wheels which likely cost as much as the bike if bought the same year the bike was issued. If not and my memory serves that bike could be got for less than 1k in halfords on sale and was a bargain at the time 2016/17

It’s a low end heavy steel bike with cheap components. Worth about €50 if the bb didn’t need to be replaced.

LOL. Comments are all from the seller.

Advertising on a profile that clearly has lots of bikes that you're going on holidays may not be the wisest either.

The seller has a different name than the name on the Giro helmet.

Imagine parting with two and a half grand of your hard earned cash and getting that bar tape. I'm looking for a new bike with Ultegra Di2 disc and budget isn't much higher than asking on that.

Is it just me that expects to see an Olympic bike every time this thread gets bumped though?

Ah the Olympic bike! The one with the 8k frame and 'once off' wheels that he bought on Adverts for 300 beer vouchers :D:D:D

Think it’s one of these - 2014 but with upgraded wheels, pedals, cranks and bar tape

he's updated the details, it's 2015, and kitted out with 105. you'd buy a bike new of similar spec for a grand.

The zipp wheels would be worth a few bob though, bit surely nowhere near a 2.5k value

Not a bike, but someone is trying to sell an elite directo for €1100

    https://www.adverts.ie/road-bikes/elite-directo-x-smart-turbo-trainer/20226322.

    Lovely bit of profiteering there.

I also saw a shop in the UK trying to sell a used Elite Muin for £550 quid. It was not worth that new

It'll be interesting to see if some of the restrictions for traders are revised shortly. I heard yesterday that the likes of hardware shops might be allowed to open under strict guidelines. I could se this extending to Halfords etc. I'd nearly pop a comment in his ad.

you have to admire his moxie though - after someone points out it can be bought new for significantly cheaper, he doubles down.

I actually do like it, it's not cycling but it is addictive and unlike computer games, I can convince my family it's sport. It's addictive, I'm riding the CI league, my club league and so on. I don't get the riding around in it attraction, it's not cycling but it's a good distraction.

You wont be disappointed. It's a great training tool and I think the overwhelming majority of users both pro and amateur believe it to be far tougher than any out door effort.

I'm not sure why some would say it's not cycling when you're on a bike and well cycling but I get it's not outdoors and you don't have the same free wheeling affect. Drafting is also not the same you cant free wheel with a group and remain in position as you would outdoors. Its all power based you get out what you put in.

It's basically a training tool that is pretty much guaranteed to push you out of your comfort zone and more about quality than quantity. The old weekend coffee spins are great also but combined with zwift or pretty much any of the indoor training apps they compliment one another.

Download the zwift companion app and you can see events/races etc

Bike prices have gone gaga the last few weeks, has anyone noticed? Flurries of offers on 9 month old adverts ads for scaldy aul Giant Avails. 4 year old bikes for sale for close to new rrp.

It's a repeat of the turbo trainer scavenger hunt. -Great to see so many people buying and getting out on bikes all the same.

I'm not in Ireland but trying to sell a (relatively reasonably priced) road bike at the moment and not getting any concrete interest at all - think the travel restrictions make it tougher to sell
