The combat is hard to get your head around.

I keep pressing X to attack and end up just dodging all over the place.

It'll take some getting used to. I started it on 'Hard' and struggled past the first fight, then got hammered by some Hyenas as part of a side quest. Just had to bite the bullet and drop it back down to 'Normal'. Might try to go back up if/when I nail the combat.

I am pressing X to get behind them then hitting them with a combo, find it handy enough as long as I pick where the fight is ala Witcher.

Bull**** archers one shotting me from half a mile away is a pin in the hole.

Enjoying the game tho, not sure what RPG elements it has and I like that I dont have to go back to X to complete a mission.

The missions / quests are fairly RPG, as is the levelling up and skill tree. It's not full blown RPG where you are setting up various builds for specific jobs but it's got a bit more depth to it.

Surprising that, I'm finding it quite interesting and enjoying it immensely (bar not quite figuring out what a shield is yet).

Seems to be some sort of decoration for your arm. Maybe its a fashion thing?

Certainly not a fighting thing

I'm still on the 1st chapter but this is an absolute joy to play. It looks amazing, movent is so smooth and the little things really add to it like the ease of looting things and also being able to loot from a horse. I thought the eagle would be a stupid mechanic but it feels so natural and it's so quick to go back and forth between senu and Bayek. I also like the lack of minimap.

Only negative so far, like mentioned before, is not being able to carry unconscious guards.

Have had 3 so far :
Pretty sure the burning bush is alien related

And the 3rd was an oasis hallucination in the something depression searching for the hidden weapon.

Picked this up last night on Steam, and to start off it looks beautiful and flows really well and I'm surprised to say I'm really enjoying it.

Right up until I got to the first town. Screen tearing, NPC's not loading (they looked like mannequins), the very first escort mission bugged out, he disappeared underground and wandered off.

I've turned the graphics right down, but it does seem like the stories of the Denuvo gimping the CPU are true. In the last two weeks I've played both Wolfenstein 2 and Shadow of War without issue.

I really don't want to refund this game because it looks like it could be great fun.

What’s the performance like on consoles (specifically the Xbox One)?

    Decent framerate?

On PS4 I've had the odd framerate issue and I'm talking two or three times I've noticed it out of hours playing so it really hasn't been an issue. Can't speak for XB1 but hopefully that helps.

What CPU you got? I'm running it on an i5 and getting 70-75fps on High settings with no stuttering or trouble at all.

i5 4690K, only two years old. Should be grand for running this, but when I get playing for about 20 minutes or so the texture issues start, screen tearing and display issues. Even the sound goes crazy and I can watch my CPU jump up to 100%.

Seems a fairly solid 30fps to my eyes, occasional pop in or weird npc or animal spawning but I've seen that maybe 3 times in about 10 hours.

    No issues here on ps4.

Haven't had much issues with performance here, the odd drop in fps, though have had 2 crashes and on 1 mission last I had the npc in the ceiling of a cave who I had to talk to but couldn't cause all you could see was his body and legs. I'm running i7 4770k and msi 970, most settings high @ 1080.

But still am enjoying this addition to the series alot more than the other recent ones

What are all these “technical issues” Gamespot were complaining about so?

In a game this massive, there's going to be a couple of bugs but nothing for me so far. Only thing I'm not cool with is tracking enemies, I need to know exactly how many are around and where dammit.

That's what Senu does. You know you have a killer pet eagle.

Yeah I know, but sometimes she misses a few lads, and I'm screwed. Does she level up her senses a bit, as in, can she spot them all at once instead of zooming in to tag them?

The more towers you synchronise the better her senses are, or at least the range is better.

If you follow the reticule it'll tell you where someone or some treasure is that you haven't tagged yet.

I have the season pass and they sent me an email advising me to buy it. They’re clearly trolling us all.

Hmmm I have it and I didn't get an email. I feel like I'm being trolled with reverse psychology now...
