Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The BBC say that Maloney found him hanging in his flat in Bromley. No mention of a heart attack and they're usually on the mark. I just wonder whether or not it was a suicide or an AEA? Either way it's a terrible loss for Ireland. He was a powerful fighter. R.I.P Darren.

The manager had a suspected heart attack after finding Darran Sutherland. Sad news this morning.

i heard this last night and was in absolute shock

tragic news, truly bloody tragic, Irelands best boxer, most charismatic one for years, and he came across as a confident fella, not cocky or up his own arse, i suppose im lucky now to have seen his debut and 2 of his irish amature titles, i really am sad he`s gone, really annoyed that someone so young and promising has been taken from us

RIP Darren, you`ll be sorely missed

any chance we could stop the idle speculation and keep the thread for what it is intended, and that is condolences?

f*ck sake, people have a slant on everything

here here!! Thoughts are with his family and friends

Very Very sad. He deffo had the makings of being an Irish boxing legend. I always said that there were a few arrogant a$$hole boxers, that could take a leaf or two from the gentleman that was Darren Sutherland.

I couldn't get over how positive he was after 'only' winning the bronze at the olympics.

Will be sadly missed. Condolances to his family and friends

Didn't want to believe it last night when the first thread appeared here.

Tragic news, very very sad, we never really know what's going on in another person's head.

Thoughts go today to his family, give them strength.

Rest in Peace Darren, you did yourself and your country proud during your short and bright life.

Had work seminar once with Irish High Performance psychologist Gerry Hussey (who is a hugely impressive motivational speaker and character) and he described Darren as the 'most amazing person he ever met in his life'

:(RIP DARREN Deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me,
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
