Imagine my shock at being greeted with this by this morning's front page on the Metro. It's unbelievable really, especially since he came across as such a confident guy who had the belief in his own ability to go far in Boxing. One of the last guys you might expect to do this. RIP.

Absolutely shocking news,it's reported Frank Maloney found him in his flat and had a suspected heart attack,he's in hospital recovering, RIP Darren

The BBC say that Maloney found him hanging in his flat in Bromley. No mention of a heart attack and they're usually on the mark. I just wonder whether or not it was a suicide or an AEA? Either way it's a terrible loss for Ireland. He was a powerful fighter. R.I.P Darren.

It's a shame that when I was asked "Did you hear about Sutherland" that I automatically thought suicide... and was right.

RIP, he was good to watch.

The manager had a suspected heart attack after finding Darran Sutherland. Sad news this morning.
