Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For gods sake just as one of the best best of 11 matches ever goes into a decider my channel says service not available. Typical Virgin Media. I'll follow on here instead.

That pot success rate is amazing.

Robbo misses long red. No real damage done.

Nowt potted yet. Safety bout currently - possible pot for Mark though, it's tight - got it. No easy colour, Mark thinking.

Cagey enough frame so far Selby in first with 1 red, playing safe now.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Selby made a balls of the safety hit knuckle of middle pocket.

Has making of cagey frame still, pink tied up black on green spot, and a few awkward reds near black spot and cushion. Blue near yellow pocket.
    Robbo playing safe on 12.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

After all the heavy scoring a tense, black ball decider would be a nice way to finish.

Bad safety, chance for Neil. Gets red, great cannon on red under black- good on black - thinking, looks good chance. Black goes in. A few points available. Reds not 'perfect' for a sizeable break. Long red to green pocket - for possy on blue - overhits, going for yellow. Long way to go yet. Upcoming red not a gimme, rest job - in it goes. No man's land - white just below blue, about 2 inches under. More later, looks like he's playing safe. 12 - 1 to the Aussie, moderate safety; white in baulk.

Selby 'misses' - no damage done. Safety from Robbo - Seby in baulk.

22-1 now Neil ahead, 9 reds left. Safety ongoing. Blue on cush about a foot from yellow pocket. Will take some winning - reds not perfect should someone get in.

This frame could be an hour long the way it is set.

Selby goes 'in off' - Neil misses - red careers into bunch of 6 or so - trickier now - 2 reds close to black cush - Neil to play - what a safety (lucky!) - lands behind black, which is on yellow spot. Not looking good for Selby.

    Phil Yates is a buffoon...

Selby is struggling to escape from behind the black on the green spot.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Selby misses - No chance for Robbo - puts Mark back - he's trying for the bunch of 4 beside pink - excellent escape. Anyone's game, but Neil has a healthy 30-1 lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,904 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Robbo in 30 up 4/5 free reds now going for black in baulk.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Neil back in with an easy red which was in baulk area. Looking about 1/7 to win from here.

I can easily imagine Hendry rolling his eyes at some of his quips.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,904 ✭✭✭✭Rothko

Looks like Robertson should win it from here.

    50 -1 . 5 reds left.

Not quite over. Looks over now, good pink to right centre. Yep, that's it.

Robertston wins on a 40 plus break now

    6-5.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,904 ✭✭✭✭Rothko

The match turned out even better than I expected. Let's hope we have another cracker tomorrow night.

Selby did not get the run of the balls in that last frame, in fairness to him.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Nearly identical on stats. Robbo shaded it on pot success 94-91, and safety 65-58 iirc :pac: Can't rewind.

Average shot time 23s apiece - am sure on that 1 :)

I enjoyed watching the opening 10 frames and then i enjoyed reading the decider on here. Just before my tv went a little stir crazy i heard Phil Yates say the match was in his top 10 he's ever seen (not sure if he said best of 11's) and Hendry said he can't remember a better best of 11 match.

The standard from both players was off the richter scale. Only a couple of weeks ago Trump and Robbo served up a 9-8 classic English Open final. And Robertson beat Trump 10-9 in the Champion of Champions final last year. Could we get another great final between them or will Mark Allen have something to say about that?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,904 ✭✭✭✭Rothko

Looking very bad for Trump so far as he's 4-0 down at the interval.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

Just caught the last two frames. Judd in big trouble here. Hendry pointing out he saw Judd laughing anfd joking with someone before the match and thinks you cannot be in thatframe of mind before a big semi final. Shows you the mentality Hendry had back in his prime. He was a stone cold, merciless killing machine that never showed any weakness. I like hearing his thoughts as a pundit.

Why does this Radzi lad have to introduce the two players back from the mid session interval? This hss never been done before and what is the need for it?

Probably something to do with the 'fake clapping' - I guess. A prompt perhaps, to make the applause seem more natural?

Surely not a whitewash for the World Num 1 tonight? Allen is in total control.

Don't see Trump coming back from this. Very disappointing match after last night.

Mark Allen's jabby little cue action might not be the prettiest on the eye but it sure is efficient.

Allen goes through 6-1. Pretty poor match, it has to be said.

Enjoyable if you wanted the Irishman to win :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

Kind of like after the lord mayor's show after what last night served up. Still though hats off to Mark Allen and makes for an interesting final. Didn't Allen beat Robbo quite a few times in a row not so long ago? He will fancy his chances, bigtime. I do too.

McManus was spot on saying lightening fast tables really suit his style.

Looked it up Allen beat Robertson 10-5 in the International Championship 2018.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Was listening to Mark Allen's post match interview where he said something about beating 'O Sullivan' in the semi final. First time i ever heard Allen not call him Ronnie. Only a minor thing but i thought Mark must still be a little angry about it. Looks like their little spat wasn't resolved post match.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

I thought Allen had the edge over Robbo in recent times. Just checked and Robbo won their most recent clash but Mark won six matches on the spin prior to that.

    Was thinking "Will I go for Robbo -2.5 , or -3.5?" :)

Read the last few posts, and convinced now an Allen win at 7/5 the way to go :pac:

Starting in a few mins I think. Plenty of Gaelic on TV as well: Rosc - Mayo on RTE 2 shortly, and Cork v Kerry after - a feast or a famine. :o

Hopefully there'll be plenty of entertainment/ plenty to play for come the evening sesh; when things quieten down.

You're right. So much good sport on today. I've already mapped out my schedule.

    Now - Celtic game

    13.30 Roscommon v Mayo

16.00 1st half Cork v Kerry. Will record 2nd half and won't get result.

    16.30 City v Liverpool

    18.30 2nd half Cork v Kerry

    19.00 Champion of Champions Final

21.30 Record Sunday Game (watch tomorrow)

    What a day!

Fair play Chalk - some good planning, and sacrifice went into that schedule :D

Could easily go pear-shaped if ya 'inadvertently' hear a current score. Hope ya miss out on them annoying "Feeds/notifications" :)

Ha just a bit of discipline needed. Phone and radio will go offat start of Liverpool game. Wont be turned back on until watch recorded 2nd half of Cork v Kerry. Myworry is Kerry could be out of sight at ht in that game, though and the result not in doubt. Either way a great days sport!

Good frame from Robbo - century in the second.

1-1 so far, final shaping up nicely.

Now, over to RTE2 for Connacht C'ship :)

Keep an eye on Shane and Padraig in the golf too.

Glad I don't have Sky Sports - too much choice, today anyway.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭Chalk McHugh

Back to back centuries brings Robbo level at 4-4.Only caught glimpses of it. One more frame in this session.
