Ah I wouldn't quite put it that way. Its more a case of tunnel vision by whoever in the bank gave that the goahead. I mean they were likely looking at figures, they saw a debt that needed collection, they went looking for someone to collect it and likely found a company based in NI to do it. I'd highly doubt whoever made the sale in that company would have been rushing out of their way to highlight that they were from NI and their presence would likely inflame some memory of the Land Wars among some people based in the West of Ireland. Similarly I doubt whoever signed off on it in KBC would have also joined those dots.

The "security team" are from loyalist areas in NI, a handful of them have been identified on social media with connections to loyalist gangs despite their best efforts to disguise themselves. On the eviction video, one has denied being Irish and said he was British with a northern accent, the rest had northern accents with northern regged vans which were burnt out in the raid. This is the same balaclava gang who evicted people on North Frederick st in Dublin.
As said before, hiring them is like a red rag to a bull. The local online newspaper in that region in it's video of the story has hundreds of supportive comments for the raid.

If the security guards were from the republic this would still have happened.

And if the security were from Westmeath they'd be left at peace?

What a pointless action if ever there was one, the farm is still repossessed, only now some of the locals will be up for arson and violent assault. But sure they showed them.

Have you got a link to the video and the online paper?

How much did they owe? When did they last make payments?

Likely they wouldn't but you wouldn't have a groundswell of support for the vigilantes as is evident right now if they did

back in 2008 when the government was going to bail out the banks they should have cut x% off all mortgages taken out between 2004 and 2008 (or something like that)

you know if they were going to put the money in anyway and charge us all for it and cut and tax for it all anyway

Can a bar hire bouncers from companies based outside Ireland to police their premises without the need to wear ID badges?

Quote:
All licensed individuals are obliged by law to wear an identity badge at all times while providing a security service. Failure to wear a badge may result in you being prosecuted and facing a fine. The identity badge must be clearly visible at all times and displayed on the upper torso (above the stomach and below the neck). The following is not acceptable:

Hanging the badge from a belt around the waist.
Clipping the badge behind a neck tie.
Placing the badge in a shirt pocket or jacket pocket.
Placing the badge under a jumper or jacket.

Failure to wear the badge in the correct manner may result in your licence being revoked.
