Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I bought a pair of Hincapie bib-shorts during the week because the 12 pairs of shorts I already have just aren't enough.

I suffer a lot from buyer remorse. It's a very serious affliction.

I ordered a set of Swissstop pads from Swim Cycle Run on Friday and should have them on Monday. The Shimano 105 pads are wearing away at an alarming rate and the Swisstops are apparently the dogs undercarriage.

I'm obviously the last of the big spenders.....

Ha ha. I am the opposite. I ordered new tyre and Castelli winter gloves.

Once the gloves arrive they will have to go straight back in the post. Otherwise I will be on bread and water until pay day. I'll keep they tyre otherwise no cycling till payday.

Probably get promptly escorted off the 401 410 forum by the style bouncers for this, but finding my peripheral vision significantly reduced by the new prescription sunglasses, so went for these

After you are thrown off the 401 forum, I propose that you are also thrown off the 410 forum. :)

    Any chance of review?

Should have added to my previous post, I've a set of Northwave Torpedo Plus (Canyon shoe sale), and a Gabba convertible in or soon to be in the post at the moment. I'd have killed for the latter yesterday evening in one shower I got caught in on the way out to Corkagh Park to spectate/support!

Not in the post, but thought it worth observing that after a bodged delivery the first time (no tracking number and UPS messed up), this order had to be placed again and I've finally received them today, 3 months later (again with no tracking number, mind!). However the silver lining is that someone in Canyon made a boo-boo reprocessing the order, and instead of the original price around 80 euro, it was an 80-odd per cent discount so I got them for about 20 quid - can live with a delay for that! :D

    1 STRONGLIGHT 110 BCD Dural 34-44T 42 Silver £ 10.00

Kind of embarrassing but I have just ordered one of these to replace my 46T (which replaced my 50T):(

Its going to be the big ring on my touring road bike as last trip I constantly shifted between my 2 front rings over rolling countryside.
Hopefully this will let me stay in one ring or the other for most of the trip.

not too worried about top end speed as I freewheel down the gradients mostly

    Old age!!!

A new lock and specialist batteries and velcro straps for the new bike I thought I was getting… the brave boys of the Giant shop have tried to find the size, marque and model in UK and Holland; last I heard, a few weeks ago, was that they were going to try Taiwan. It's now clear this bike is never going to happen, despite the Giant lads' sterling attempts to find it. Still, won't I have two new locks (one a quarter of the weight of the non-bike itself), an anti-theft device and a strap to hold the lock on the invisible bike.

    Had these for awhile now and find them quite good;

    Pros:

    - Good field of vision
    - Easy to adjust on the fly
    - Less ugly and/or intrusive than many of the alternatives

    Cons:

    - Very easy to knock out of adjustment
    - Quite far away from you for someone short sighted like myself
    - Tend to be obscured by your arms in the drops

I find that I need to look around less, as I know when there definitely is traffic behind you, but I still tend to look around to verify the all clear before pulling out / changing lanes.

    371015.JPG

In terms of uglification, IMHO they're no worse than the big light or saddle bag.

How do you stay on that saddle?? Are your arms/shoulders not sore from stopping you sliding forward??

Its a very personal thing, I had mine tilted even more for a long time. Now its a bit less, but took a while to adjust the pelvis position for comfort.

Not at all, and I find with the nose any higher I get too much pressure on the perineum and all the fun that leads to. The B17 also has more give than a conventional saddle, so when I plonk my fat ass on it, it doubtless bends to bear the load :pac:
