Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yes, a lifehack for not giving your family recipes away while getting people who keep pestering you for them off your back.

It's a lifehack if you want to maintain the air of mystery around baking. If you give someone "your" recipe, but your cakes are always blissfully light and the right flavour but their is either dense or tastes like a 9V battery, then you can ascribe it to your "touch".

A lifehack for narcissists it may be but a lifehack it is.

I'm from Bray, I know what all batteries taste like. :D

(Pretty sure all kids in the 80s went around licking 9V batteries for the literal buzz of it!)

Does this forum support a 'hack-but-not' thread? cos.....Pinterest has a plethora under the guise - you know, the hacks that take ten times the money and time to do, then simply finding the right item for the job... or the "doesnt' this look cool" [but actually is ridiculous] hacks like, "cut your pies with small round cutters for cute miniature pies" ---- why? so my guests can have less pie? ...Falls under the "Yeah, I'm not gonna do that!" hack. :pac:

Don't really have a pic to hand, but here's a small lifehack if anyone is finding wearing their mask is cutting into the top of their ears after wearing it for too long.

    Grab a spare black shoelace.
Tie each end around either strap according to the length you require.
Put it over your head and either rest the back of the lace over your crown, or lower down just under your ear.

Voila. Facemask is secure, but not pulling on your ears :)

I use the elastic from the previous facemask and do this to the fresh mask.

Not sure how effective it would be, but it'd be worth a shot (excuse the pun).

We had fire extinguishers in certain class rooms. (Science, woodwork, etc). People occasionally got a blast of one. Nobody went unconscious.

The door to the dining area of the Alcobaça Monastery in Portugal was made narrow so that monks who got too fat were forced to go into fasting
