Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Whittaker's just come out and said don't believe the rumours going around, but didn't mention what rumours.
I saw them everywhere, but never saw a source.
I seen that. But wasn’t sure if the rumours were the sick daughter, or the story that’s it’s not true.

He’s something personal going on. And has posted a lot of family pics lately. Wish him a fast returned either way.

It seems McGregor has gone full blown religious nut (may be a slight exaggeration). Many of his social media posts and interviews since just before the Cerrone fight made reference to God, The Lord etc and that trend seems to have increased post fight. Today's post about Italy being a prime example. I wonder if that has been some sort of influence from Tony Robins. Is he a Good botherer too?

Fair play to Mcgregor and God. If it makes him happy and a better person than whats the fuss.

Right on the money. He only became religious after punching the old man in the pub. Nothing but a PR job to save his sponsors and brand. It certainly doesn't hurt that his target audience are the Americans, who eat it up very easily. Tony Robbins is a PR guru who always suggests using God to better yourself (your brand) when in times of trouble. Mcgregor taking Robbins advice with aplomb.

if someone adopts a "higher power" to their training it can only be positive.

i'm not remotely religious, but i also have zero discipline

if i chose and surrendered to a "higher power" and focused on my work for example, and every time i thought about drugs or alcohol or general debauchery and i meditated or prayed (or whatever you are supposed to do) everytime i was likely to slack off, and then concentrated on the task at hand, then i would accomplish my task more effectively , katie taylor is a good example , and i think many addiction specialists use it also.

i'm sure most people can train and not be bothered by drugs or alcohol....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

You always ask yourself "is there a limit to how much lower the standard of the debate in the McGregor thread can go?" and the answer is always, always "no".

You think being inquisitive about someone's seemingly new found religious beliefs is lower than talk on supposed drug use, extra martial behaviours, speculation on various degrees of assault charges???

    Oooooookay, suuuure!

Yeah I can get that angle, but with it often comes the ready made excuse for all loses, 'it was God's will'. People believe that no matter what they do God is in control of whether they win or lose.

Rehashing the 'Jesus loves knockouts' video clips with him and JK will be funny.

I wouldn't read too much into it or take it too personally, it was just a joke.

(But really, at the same time, nobody gives a **** whatsoever about religious ramblings on his Instagram)

You dont. If people are posting about it maybe they are interested? The only time you post on this thread is to moan about the topic of discussion, why not just unfollow it?

Sure a "facebook friend" was going mad because it was just Leinster he was donating too

you can't win with some people, he could have donated 100 million and be told sure thats only €100 to him

Didn't Darren career really start because he had to pull a runner form Liverpool and ended up living in Brazil ? he's no stranger to that kind of world ,

Yeah to be fair I wouldn't put it passed him, I just find it very hard to take her serious so everything she says would be taken with a truckload of salt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

Hang on, she's mad as it is anyways, but she said she messaged him ages ago asking him to use his voice to speak out about corruption and then accusses his fan base of being a 'seriously dummed down cohort". That same fan base she no doubt wanted him to speak to in her request for a video?

So he never responded to her video on corruption request but got a 3am message today that just said "Hello Gemma". So she DM'd him back, calling him a puppet and giving him abuse for an embarrassing video message. Did she expect a "sound, thanks Gemma" response from him? And she's very selective only reading out one line of his "long winded" response which she wants to perceive as a threat.

    She's absolutely crackers.
