Seems to be a decent one. Bases it off all new player ratings but last year's squads as the live update won't happen until Thursday.

Now don't take this as gospel but just by looking at the teams in the demo, Barca are 5 stars. On the site above, Barca are 84 rated and i think there are teams that are 83 rated on pes master and 4.5 stars. So let's say 82 or 83 is 4.5 stars for arguments sake.

By this theory, losing neymar could possibly drop barca to 4.5 star and gaining Lukaku and Matic could bring United to 4 star as they're 83 rated.

This is all guesswork on my behalf but it might give you an idea

Edit: From looking at PES 2017 stats, it does appear to be 84 and above is 5 stars meaning 83 is 4.5 stars.

I think to be on the safe side yes. Also, Lukaku and Ibrahimovic up front rated 87 and 90 respectively with 88 rated Pogba behind them is a bit overpowered!

I don't think there's any chance of Barca being dropped to 4.5 starts. Sure they're like the face of Pro Evo now. They have to be a 5 start team. Anything else would be just pure madness. Madness I tell you!!

I don't know. Whatever about the two Spanish sides, but I think pulling United out is a bit much.

I mean why not Man City, Chelsea or PSG as well? You could make the same case for those. In fact they might even have better balanced squads.

It probably does get a little messy if we're trying to decide if specific teams are too good to be included.

I would say that it's probably best to just limit it to a maximum star rating (4 or 4.5 etc.) and leave it at that.

But, that said, I'm easy really.

Agreed. United are as beatable as those teams and others like Juventus. I think once the five star teams are excluded then that's enough.

Ah no to be honest I wouldn't exclude any team as I think it can be fun trying to take down a Real Madrid with a weaker side. But I understand why people don't want to play them so happy to go along with it.

Yeah sorry should have made that obvious, buying on US store. Its out there tomorrow so will unlock for me around 4 or 5am tomorrow morning but won't get to properly play it until Wednesday.

The funny thing is, if you came top of the list on the first try you'd probably have to do it again cos no one would believe it. About 5th is the best you could realistically do before people (me) started asking questions!

Not just yet. Wait until Monday when almost everybody will have the game and we'll begin picks then. If you're in the top 6 picks, then maybe PM me your top 3 in preference order after you've had a look at the teams this weekend.

The PM thing is just a suggestion to get things moving along quicker so we're not waiting on someone to reply with their pick

I think all 16 in a league would be better. Assume we play each other once? 16 weeks. I've never done this before, but would be nice to see where you finished overall

So many permutations! My original suggestion was for everyone to play each other once and at the halfway point, we can suggest playing home and away matches, so 30 in total.

The Koolhanger suggestion would be to split it up and then go into knockouts. If we're not doing that now, I'd be open to doing that at some stage. Top 3 from each group going to last 16. 4th place in each group plays the winners of the qualifiers, ie the bottom 4 playoff. E.g. 4th in group A plays playoff winner of group B and vice versa

I'm definitely up for whatever the group decide to do.

Just to explain why I feel 2 x 8 player groups would be good - mainly because you only need to finish in the top half of your group to make the knockout stages. So, it should keep lads interested for longer as they will have something to play for right up until the end. I'd be afraid that if you're outside of the top 6 in a league of 16 you'd lose interest pretty quickly.

Just my thoughts on it

As I said, definitely will be delighted to go with whatever we all decide. Maybe there are some other ideas either?

If we get a few options together we can do a poll. I don't think anyone feels to strongly about it, as long as we get a few online games and some sort of format. I think picking teams will be the most interesting bit. I assume we need the first update to see what the final 4.5 star teams will be.

The update is live now and I can confirm that just Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid are 5 star so it's a free for all from the remaining teams. From my calculations, United just missed out on 5 stars!

I think 2 leagues of 8 is a great way to go , Keeps up the excitement and having maybe top 2 from each going through to semi's would be the way to go , at least then if you have a drop out it isn't massivley impacting a league

Are PSG not closer than United?

Surprised at Juve to be honest. Their squad is great but its a level below Real and Barca.

2x8 may work better as it'll be short and sweet so interest can be retained. If the league is too long, people will fall out of interest or fall behind and it could distort it. I like the idea of the knockouts of the top four from each.

Next thing is, will I randomise again for the 2 groups? I know it could put some of the stronger teams in the same group like PSG and United but sure we don't know how good anyone in this league is so mightn't be an issue
