I'd say you could go further if you took that 25kg bag of sand off your back ;)

I had visions of a prediction of finishing the ten mins in 13 mins.

I think the 10 mins, 10k and 10 mile on the one day would be brilliant and simple if we forget about the progression element. 3 different length TTs, J &M at the helm and away we go.

Yeah, the prog is better suited to being an ongoing thing.

I'll set something up in the next few days.

So youd be "competing" against the people who choose the same category?

If you want to set up the Strava group I can take care of the Thread and background excel. I'm not as used to Strava admin but I could figure it out.

Either way, happy to support and drive it on.

    10m, 10k, 10mins :D

    10m, 10k, 10mins

10min is interesting. Crack at sub 10 3k maybe......

Yep, perhaps tasty targets for the fast track types that may otherwise not be interested in 10k or 10m.
3k for some (Sub 5:15 milers ;)), 2 miles for others (sub 5 milers).

Ah I meant I'll set up the Prog challenge thread in the next few days.

Happy to help out with TT#3 too though. I can set up a Strava group.

You wanna start the TT thread itself?

 Ok confused. Was your progression idea a different thread than the TT? If so don't want to a step on your toes, just said I'll help.

If it was a different thing then yeah, I'll kick off TT#3 Thread in a similar fashion to the lads for consistency. 10min, 10k, 10m. Although the last TT was put to a vote. Should I hold a poll again or do ye think the 3 options are good to go? If so I'll set it up and Lazare or Healy1835* can set up the Strava thread.

*said he would help but busy with the spotlight this week :D
Yes, I get that. 10 seconds I can handle, I think. It's anything more complicated than that I'm struggling with.

Oh, and you should be disqualified. For showing up the rest of us. :P
Even 10 secs is hard to do. I tried a few weeks back over 15 miles. It was a very tough LR

Planned drops every mile: 10 secs
Actual drops (using LL Pace): 13,8,12,8,14,7,11,9,10,9,11,11,11,11,9

I think your 10x3 idea is a great idea for the next TT M, leave the progressive element out and make it plain all out racing once more.

Ha, yeah it got a bit confusing a few posts in, I blame that B fella.

Yep, the progression idea was always (in my mind) meant to be a different thing to the TT series. I waited until after the 1m to post about it as I didn't want to take people's attention away from that.

I love your idea for the next TT though.

So it's really 3 time trials in one day, pick whatever you want?

Everyone will pick 10k or 10m cause theres nobody has a 10min pb to beat!

    Yay...another TT :D

I'd seriously consider the 10min to target 3k.

Actually a fairly good way to gauge true Vo2 max pace though (closer to 8 min but would give a fairly good estimate)

Why not just make it 3k so?

    Two reasons,

3k,10k,10M doesn't have the same ring to it!

And we have three volunteers. I'm more than happy to go with their choice.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,208 ✭✭✭shotgunmcos

Right cause it's the 3rd edition boards TT hee hee

    Example
    1) TT TT TT
    2) 10 10 10
    3) min km mi

Select one option from rows 1, 2 and 3. Then set a target. Easy peasy. I'll set up the thread and turn that into a little table this week. Date? Independence Day 4th July?

    2 miles for you!

sub 40 10k or a hard long run sounds more fun, I'm sure my coach will love this

Noooo! I'm picking 10 mins, why would I go through 50+ mins of pain when I can get it over with in 10 mins :D:D. Actually I'd probably use the 10 min one to go all out for 1 mile and see my mile training improvements and then blow up for the last 2 mins!!!
