    Masood out for 1...lbw Anderson.

England's fielding still shocking, one fairly regulation catch dropped.

Pakistan 85/2...Anderson gets Azhar who never really looked comfortable...A lot of rain about!

Pakistan, 117/4 some poor shots again but some good bowling by England.

Not really sure why Pakistan decided to bat to be honest..

Sibley and Burns took two fine catches to redeem themselves. The opener Ali really rode his luck to make 60 but it was that kind of day. The fella waiting since 2009 for another game needed to score a few facing up like that. Tomorrow looks not too bad weather wise, Baber the key wicket.

Lunch delayed until 13:30, so Pakistan will have to face a testing hour before lunch!

That brilliant Wokes delivery the last over aside, the Pakistan pair look rather comfortable. The lengths are too full for my liking.

Better batting conditions today. Nick Knight correctly pointing you the absurdity of taking lunch at 1.30, why not just play the full two hours and take lunch at 2.30...I know the weather seems better for the rest of the day bit why not play when you can just in case, one of the prevailing oddities of Test cricket.

Commentators rightly criticizing Root for having 5 men out on the boundary ropes, only 2 slips, when they need to finish this innings fast. I’m inclined to agree. England need 2 wickets, weather incoming isn’t too favorable, numbers 7 and 10 at the crease, run rate is very modest yet 5 boundary riders. Stoopid, soooo conservative AGAIN from Root.

Yeah, I agree but he's a conservative captain in general, isn't he? Good knock by Rizwan.

Yes, but when conservatism is potentially the catalyst for costing you results, in winnable games, hmmmm. You have to adjust your plans and captaincy to the conditions of the game.

He’s getting some detailed criticism regarding his captaincy and the field positions from Atherton and co. Last 10 minutes.

    Meh, bad light stops play!

    Absolutely.

That's it for day 2. Shaping up to be a good match, all results still on, if Pakistan could get a few more it will be a competitive score.

Yeah..the light issues are ridiculous though, there needs to be something done about the regs.

The rest of the test will be very disjointed.

Looks like a no result from this one, weather is not forecast to improve and nothing doing so far today :(

Seems a bit hit and miss

The floodlights are on, there is low cloud. The players are out there training and we've been told as long as there is no rain at 11 the light is good enough to play.

However, the trouble is over my right-hand shoulder there is some awful dark clouds brewing and there are some storms coming from France.

Well play started after a sawdust faff! Plenty of swing it seems.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,039 ✭✭✭MFPM

Pakistan should declare, highly unlikely the game will end in anything but a draw but worth a go.

Edit: All out now, interesting to see how the Pakistani bowlers go.

    Nearly a wicket first ball!

    Burns gone! 0/1

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,039 ✭✭✭MFPM

    Off already..one hour of play.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,807 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Looking like some play will be possible somewhere between 15.00-19.00 if the BBC forecast is to be believed. Light to improve to sunny spells with only a moderate chance of showers.

Enjoying seeing this spot with Mark Wood and the guys. Refreshing to see a player in front of a camera with the confidence to be forthright, genuine, humorous and helpful instead of the usual PR damage limitations answers, seems like a nice genuine fella.

Meh, 10 overs in the day, it was lovely earlier in the morning! Day 5 tomorrow, this is dead sadly.

Yep, tomorrow is broadly irrelevant even if some play happens, roll on Friday and 3rd test, hopefully, we get a contest over 5 days.
